It was something to expect, but maybe not now, not in the way as sharp as Nokia announced: “The 808 was the last PureView Symbian Nokia Mobile”. It’s that simple. A spokesman for Nokia in Espoo also just confirmed it to Gizmodo in Spanish, it’s over: there will be newer models with Symbian.
Too bad, the 808, with camera 41 megapixel sensor, was a little gem of engineering. Yes, thick as his own, but a gem. Yesterday we we had maybe Nokia attending Mobile World Congress with one Lumia PureView to transplant the technology to Windows Phone. Hopefully. Meanwhile, Symbian: rest in peace.
