Security firm Kaspersky has found several applications in the store, Google Play, designed not only to infect your Android phone, but also jump to your PC. Masquerade as applications programs to free up memory on the phone, but actually installs malware that allows third parties to send SMS without your knowledge or download the contents of your SD card memory and a roll of film. And not only that: when you connect the phone to the PC, the malware to infect the computer jumps.

Discovered applications with the name and Superclean DroidCleaner, it seems that for now only available on Google Play Russian store, according to information published by Kaspersky, although it is possible that similar programs may exist in versions other stores countries.

According to security firm, applications are able to perform a long list of amendments on mobile: send SMS or delete, enable or disable WiFi, gather all the information over the phone, download all content in the roll of film or address book …

The most sophisticated malware is its ability to install three files on the SD card of the phone memory (autorun.inf, folder.ico and svchosts.exe), so that when it is connected by USB to the computer, install themselves on the PC. Once in the computer, the attacker can take remote control of the microphone to record yourself and send yourself those files.

 

As indicated by Kaspersky, if you use a recent version of Windows (Vista, 7 or 8), the AutoRun feature is disabled by default when you connect external drives. The aim is to attack the percentage of users with older versions of Windows Mobile and Android.

How to avoid this? Not many choices except not install applications that come from unknown developers. It’s a good idea to do a brief search prior and informed of who is the developer. At the slightest doubt, even if many apps with user reviews, best not to risk.

Android is constantly displayed in the list of mobile operating systems more vulnerable to malware. One of the latest reports on the matter, of F-Secure, Google shows the system as one of the most insecure. It is also the disadvantage of being the most popular. Not to mention the interest of security companies to show that it is really so and, incidentally, offer a solution to fix it.
