LG has officially presented its new G Optimus Pro, the successor to its Optimus G introduced last year during CES 2012, with improved Characteristics. This new ‘smartphone’ feature a Full HD screen of 5.5 inches, a quad-core processor at 1.7 GHz. For the time will be launched in Korea, Japan and the U.S., but is expected to arrive in Europe.
Asian manufacturers want to break into the market, but not only on this continent. Companies such as Huawei and ZTE (HKSE: 0763.HK – News) have already got placed in the top positions as producers in some countries, so start fighting with giants Apple (NasdaqGS: AAPL – News) and Samsung. Apart from these two Chinese company, South Korea’s LG is also struggling to reach the top.
LG introduced one of its flagships last June during the CES 2012. Along with LG Optimus Vu, the South Korean company presented a family member Optimus, the Optimus G, a ‘smartphone’ to overcome the barrier got fixed so far by Samsung Galaxy S III, in terms of screen size concerned. Almost a year later, LG is back with his successor.
This is the LG Oprimus G Pro, a device with 5.5-inch Full HD screen, the same size as the Galaxy S II Notice of. This new terminal is only 0.5 inches higher than its predecessor but with a full HD screen. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor quad core 1.7 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage expandable to 64 GB via microSD card. All with Jelly Bean Android 4.1 as operating system.
It also has two cameras, a 13-megapixel rear and a 2.1 megapixel front. It also has HDMI and NFC.
For now, this new ‘smartphone’ LG will be available from Wednesday in Japan, Korea and the United States at a price of 968,000 won (about 670 euros). The company says it will also reach other markets but has not specified what will set dates and whether European countries are among those markets.
