If you were wondering how cheaply it might be a mobile, the answer is 12 dollars. Not long ago Andrew “Bunnie“ Huang found the answer in the shop Digital Shenzhen Mingtong of Shénzhen. It is a question of ‘Gongkai Phone’, a functional team(equipment) of fourfold band GSM with a screen SMELL, Bluetooth and reproduction of MP3.

We have already seen several phone disposable, but not so bargain sales as this one. Obviously it is not a smartphone but it is functional and you are unblocked it without contract. Only it has basic characteristics, but it does not wonder for a price for 12 dollars. Nevertheless the interesting of this team(equipment) the sensation is ‘open source’ with the one that was made, in fact its name ‘Gongkai’ (公开) literally means ‘open sea’. It is constructed by a covering of transparent plastic without screws that shows quite the elements in its interior: a processor of 32 – bit to 260 MHz, 8 MB of RAM, a screen SMELL of two colors, and of course, a battery(drummer).

It is not a question of the quality of the components but as they welded everything to the same badge to save prices. It feels as a phone of open code, but it it is not: it is another type of open ecosystem. In fact if one will try to construct a cheap phone with an electronic badge Arduino Uno, nevertheless the result would be over the budget and the characteristics or factor forms of Gongkai they would keep on being Superiors.

Nokia throws(shoots) the prices: it introduces 4 new supercheap mobiles
Nokia has just presented four new mobiles in which the key is clear: I boast, boast and … to Read more …
Perhaps this team(equipment) turns out to be less attractive than the Nokia 105 of 20 dollars, but talking each other of a cheap phone it is not important to sacrifice a screen of colors and radio FM. Even the Gongkai turns out to be much cheaper than Motorola Motofone F3 unblocked, at present it costs 30 dollars and does not reproduce MP3.
