Overall Return Guidelines

These are Gadget Salvation’s (“Gadget Salvation”, “we” or “our”) Overall Return Guidelines applicable only to products purchased by you directly from the Gadget Salvation website. All returns must meet the overall guidelines in order for the individual return policy to apply.

  • Absolutely no returns at all for items sold in "AS IS" condition.
  • All other product returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. You may obtain an RMA number by contacting Gadget Salvation Customer Service through any of the methods provided on our Contact Us page.
  • Returns for refund may be subject to a restocking fee. 
  • All products that are new with the retail packaging never opened can be returned to Gadget Salvation within 30 days regardless of the individual return policy.
  • Products that are received by Gadget Salvation in any of the following conditions are not eligible for return and may be rejected:
    • Any product not purchased from Gadget Salvation.
    • Any product that does not exhibit the described reason for the return (i.e., a return initiated for a DOA product that powers on and works properly upon inspection).
    • Any product with missing, damaged, altered, or otherwise unreadable serial number label, manufacturer model or part number label, and/or warranty label.
    • Any product that is returned without all original packaging and accessories, including the retail box, manuals, cables, and all other items originally included with the product. Refund returns received in this condition may incur a restocking fee or be rejected. Read more about our restocking fee guidelines here.
    • Any product from which the UPC code has been removed from its packaging.
    • Any product that exhibits physical damage. If you received your product damaged, please read our Report a shipping problem article for guidelines and instructions on how to resolve this issue. This is would not be considered a return.
    • Any product for which you have submitted a mail-in rebate.
    • Any product which appears tampered, customized, or altered in any way.

This is our Standard Return Policy. Items covered by this policy (those products for which Gadget Salvation states "This item may be returned for a replacement or refund within 30 days only") must be returned to Gadget Salvation within 30 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply.

Please review the special notes specific for your product:

  • Desktop PC, Notebooks, or Tablet PCs:
    • A defective Desktop PC, Notebook, or Tablet PC that is returned for a replacement may be repaired or replaced at Gadget Salvation's sole discretion, unless otherwise required by law. While we strive to adhere to our own standard RMA processing times, we cannot guarantee that these times will be met, especially in situations where the item must be sent to the manufacturer for repair. If you have a question regarding returning a Desktop PC, Notebook, or Tablet PC, please contact our Customer Service Department.
    • Some computer systems will require pre-authorization from the manufacturer technical support in order for an RMA to Gadget Salvation to be authorized.
    • For computers that have had an additional operating system(s) installed, we will provide you a replacement or refund as noted in the above policy as long as the original operating system is not corrupted or removed.
  • Televisions:
    • For televisions with a screen size greater than 37 inches: An adult (age 18 or older) is required to sign the shipping courier's release form to complete delivery. It is highly recommended that you inspect the product upon delivery for visible damage. Large item shipments require that shipping damage is reported within 48 HOURS of the product’s delivery. Any damage reported more than 48 HOURS after the product delivery will not be accepted by Gadget Salvation for replacement or refund. After delivery, please read all included documentation and/or contact the manufacturer directly to determine applicable warranty coverage, if any. If you need to return a product that was shipped via Large Item Delivery, please contact Gadget Salvation’s customer service department to obtain instructions on how to return the product.
  • Television and Monitor Dead Pixels:
    • Televisions or Monitors with 8 dead pixels or more can be returned for a replacement within 30 days from the purchase date.
  • Point of Sale Products:
    • Some items are non-returnable, including software, custom labels and opened supplies (including without limitation labels, ribbons, receipt paper, receipt ribbons, print heads, card stock, RFID tags).
    • Special order products are not eligible for return.
    • Any product that is returned with markings or writing made by customer on the original box is not eligible for return.

This is our Manufacturer Only Return Policy. Items covered by this policy (those products for which Gadget Salvation states "This item cannot be returned for a replacement or refund") cannot be returned to Gadget Salvation.These products are covered by a Manufacturer Warranty which can be obtained by contacting the respective manufacturer for assistance after purchase. This is our Consumable Product Return Policy. Items covered by this policy (those products for which Gadget Salvation states "This item cannot be returned for a replacement or refund if opened") cannot be returned to Gadget Salvation.

Consumable items are items such as Printer Ink and Toner Cartridges, CD/DVD Media, Retail Packaged Software, Downloadable Software, Paper Products, etc. that are consumed once they are used.

This is our Non-Contract Cell Phone Return Policy. Items covered by this policy (those products for which Gadget Salvation states "This non-contract cell phone may be returned for a replacement within 30 days only") must be returned to Gadget Salvation within 30 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply. Products covered by this return policy may only be returned for a replacement of the same item. If the original item is no longer available, a refund in the amount of the price originally paid will be issued. Products subject to this policy cannot be returned for a refund.

Services and Extended Warranties Return Policy

This is our Services and Extended Warranties Return Policy. Items covered by this policy (those products for which Gadget Salvation states "This service or extended warranty can only be returned for a refund within 90 days if the service or warranty has not been used or redeemed.") can be returned if the service or warranty has not been used or redeemed. A return must be initiated by Gadget Salvation within 90 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply.

International Return Policy

Defective or damaged products that state "This item is covered by Gadget Salvation's International Return Policy" must have an RMA number issued by Gadget Salvation within 15 days from the delivery date for this policy to apply. In the event a product is returned that is not defective, the product will either be returned to the customer or the return shipping cost initially covered by Gadget Salvation will instead be deducted from the refund amount along with any necessary restocking fee that may apply. Refunds, Partial Refunds and Restocking Fees 

Gadget Salvation does NOT charge restocking fees for returns of defective products. If you have received the wrong product or it doesn't match what was shown on our site or we have made some other shipping error, there will be NO restocking fee and NO charge for a return label, provided the item is within its return policy period.

Returns received in any of the following conditions may be rejected or may receive a partial refund.

  • Items not in original condition, damaged, missing accessories, retail box, UPC code or showing obvious misuse not due to Gadget Salvation error
  • Physical user damage
Up to 50% of the item's purchase price

Rejected items will be returned to the customer
Opened, non-defective notebook and desktop PCs, tablets and TVs in original condition and within the return policy window 75% of the item's purchase price
Opened physical software, DVDs, games with plastic wrap removed and ALL downloadable software not due to Gadget Salvation error 0% of the item's purchase price (non-refundable)

Additional Return Information

Configurator Bundles

Items sold as part of a Configurator Bundle may be returned individually for replacement within the applicable Gadget Salvation Return Policy Period for that individual item.

Items sold as part of a Configurator Bundle cannot be returned for a refund.

Combo and Kit Specials

Combo and Kit Specials include two or more items that must be purchased together in order to receive a discount.

Items sold as part of a Combo or Kit may be returned individually for replacement within the applicable Gadget Salvation Return Policy Period for that individual item.

If an individual Combo or Kit item is returned for a refund, the applicable discount will be voided, and the discounted amount will be deducted from the amount of the refund. If your combo/kit discount amount is greater than the individual unit price of the item you wish to return, then the item cannot be returned for a refund; you will need to return all items in the combo/kit in order to receive a refund. For example, if your combo/kit discount was $5, and you return one of the items for a refund, the $5 will be deducted from your refund amount.

Manufacturer Promotional Items and Gadget Salvation Gifts

Manufacturers may offer free promotional items with their products. For example, a video card may come with a free game or a Blu-ray player may come with a free Blu-ray disc. To receive a full refund on a purchase that offers promotional items all items must be returned. The cost of any promotional items not returned will be deducted from the refund total.

Gadget Salvation may also offer gifts to valued customers for their continued support as well as for special giveaways. These gifts are not part of any purchase value and therefore do not have to be returned.

Out-of-Stock (Back-Order) Items

If Gadget Salvation no longer carries an item that is sent in for replacement, or if that item is simply out of stock, Gadget Salvation will issue you a refund. If the item is returned within 30 days of the original invoice date, a full refund will be issued. If the item was returned beyond 30 days of the original invoice date, a store credit refund at the current market value of the product will be issued. A current-market-value refund may not exceed the original invoice price.

Quantity Purchases

While Gadget Salvation is more than happy to fill your order for a quantity of ten (10) or more of any given item in our inventory on a single purchase order, please understand that an order of that size, once purchase is completed, is automatically non-refundable. All other specific conditions related to the ordered item still apply, including any and all stipulations relative to any available replacement return policies.
