Shops that sell electronics will easily tell you that one of the decision-making factors buyers take into consideration is the music feature of a device. Apart from the sound functionality, music apps like Shazam, are also a big concern. Shazam is among the top music apps in the world. It is used by over 100 million people to find music, acquire song lyrics, and, just recently, find out the music that musicians and artists also listen to themselves.

Discovering New Artists and Music

The option to follow your favorite musicians and artists on Shazam is not exactly a brand new feature. However, recent changes immediately boosted its popularity. The growth is a result of a few feature revamps launched by the app just a week ago. The app now unveils how artists are using Shazam to explore new music and uncover new tunes. With the modified iOS and Android program, users will now have the option to follow thousands of artists. The list includes Coldplay, Shakira, Alicia Keys, and Pitbull, to name a few.

App users can now view the music and artists these celebrities are discovering through Shazam. Even better, it is possible to listen to these songs straight from the app. However, it’s important To note that the music choices of artists can be set to private, which means that users cannot expect artists to make all their exploration available to the public.

Connecting to Users

Daniel Danker, Chief Product Officer of Shazam, stated that the company’s newest feature is a result of a recent study done by the app. It shows that entertainers themselves discover new music and new artists through the app as well. The creators of Shazam want to nurture this new feature so that artists and app users have a more direct connection. Danker noted that most of the successful musicians and celebrated artists are big fans of other names themselves, and they frequently use Shazam to check out new tunes. And so, for the very first time, their fans can be part of these moments as they take place.

New discoveries from entertainers that use the app will show up instantly in Shazam. While browsing through the artist list, users can easily tap the button to determine what those entertainers are Shazaming. The fans will then be updated on all the news surrounding the artist new singles, new albums, and new videos. With the release of Apple Music, fans can tune into the tracks entertainers Shazam by tapping the button that says “Listen on Apple Music.”

The Shazam improvements started taking place after the launch of the app’s visual recognition capabilities last May. The visual recognition functionality extends the program’s mobile platform reach. This is to establish the world where anything from movie posters to print media is converted from static graphics into vibrant bits of content. As of the moment, artists that are participating in this recharged app feature can only share their music content to their followers. However, Danker assured that in the distant future, this service will be expanded to books, magazines, movie posters and other Shazam-related items.
