Projected to be launched later this year, the iPhone 7 is the talk of the town, especially for vendors who sell iPhones. Tim Cook recently announced that the iPhone 7 will provide users with a bunch of killer features. And because everything is still speculation at this stage, here are some news and rumors about the soon-to- be-released Apple unit.

Design

Within the past few years, iPhone updates have displayed an expected cycle. This includes significant design changes during even-numbered years, and then "under the hood" improvements during odd-numbered years. For this year, a complete design overhaul is a near

guarantee with perhaps a number of dramatic enhancements.

However, rumor has it that the iPhone 7 may shuffle this predictable trend. According to smartphone analysts, the supply chain rumors point out that the iPhone 7 won’t feature any “must-have form factor modifications.” This suggests that only a few improvements and limite  refinements will be applied, and possibly, new internal pieces thrown into the mix. Also, given how often smartphone users drop their units into bodies of water (toilets included),

Apple may develop a water-resistant framework. In the past couple of months, multiple sources have noted that the iPhone 7 will be both waterproof AND dustproof. This rumor originated from reports that Apple is working on a brand new waterproofing-related patent. Based on the patent’s outline, iPhone ports built with this engineering will be enclosed by membranes, which may be penetrated by either a headphone or a USB plug.

Security

Although the security feature isn’t typically a primary focus of the Apple rumor mill, one of the company’s biggest 2016 stories involved its battle with the FBI. Several gadget journals have reported that Apple is focusing on strategies to encrypt data saved through its iCloud service.

According to the New York Times, iPhone engineers are concentrating on new safety measures to avoid iPhone-hacking.

Display

There’s particularly reliable news about the iPhone 7’s sapphire display. Apparently, this will provide a higher degree of resistance against scratches and shatter. It’s believed that the new display is better than the current phones’ Gorilla Glass.

Smartphone analysts predict that the company may update its iPhone lineup next year to incorporate a new curved screen. The new one will feature live matrix organic light-emitting diode which provides several advantages over the liquid crystal display screens. The former is slimmer, lighter and more versatile than the latter.

Connections

One of the widely speculated news about the iPhone 7 involves its connectivity specifications. Rumor has it that the company may leave out the 3.5mm headset jack for a multipurpose Lightning plug. This will likely support a finer framework, possibly shaving off at least one millimeter.

Components

The iPhones built with A9 processors are all red-hot units, flaunting the enhanced speed of their 64-bit dual-core chips. And since each successive Apple generation is estimated to provide superior speed, an A10 chip energizing the iPhone 7 is not a farfetched idea. In the same way, it’s not irrational to expect an iPhone 7 with 4GB of RAM.

Camera

Numerous sources noted that there will be a substantial boost in quality with the iPhone camera. The anticipated iPhone unit will most likely feature a 10-megapixel camera. A two-lens DSLR-style camera is also a distinct possibility.

All of these are part of the rumors and news surrounding the iPhone 7. Stay tuned to this site for more updates.
