Find your Dell's model number.
There are four ways to locate your Dell laptop's model number. Pick whichever is easiest — then get an instant trade-in quote in seconds.
Method 1
Check the bottom panel.
The model number is on the underside of your Dell laptop. On some newer models it's etched directly into the chassis rather than on a label.

Flip your laptop over
Power off and close the lid, then turn the laptop upside down on a soft surface.

Read the label or etching
Find the line marked Model — for example Latitude 7420. On newer models it may be etched directly into the bottom case.
Method 2
Use System Information.
Prefer to do it on-screen? Windows shows both your model number and processor type in two clicks.

Search for "System Information"
Click the Windows icon in the taskbar and type System Information.

Open the top result
A window opens with your system summary. The System Model is all you need for a quote, and the Processor is listed in the same window.
Method 3
Check Windows Settings.
Windows 10 and 11 list your device details under the About page.

Open Settings
Open the Settings app (the gear icon) from the Start menu.

Go to System → About
Navigate to System › About — your model is often displayed there alongside the device specs.
Method 4
Check the BIOS / UEFI.
A reliable fallback if Windows won't load — the model is listed in firmware. Still have the original box? The model is usually printed on the side too.

Restart and press F2
Restart your computer and press F2 once the Dell logo appears to open the BIOS/UEFI setup.

Open System Information
Look for a System Information section (or similar) where the model number is listed.
