Find your HP's model number.

There are three ways to locate your HP laptop's model number. Pick whichever is easiest — then get an instant trade-in quote in seconds.

Method 1

Check the bottom panel.

The quickest method — the model number is printed on the underside of your HP laptop.

  1. 1

    Flip your laptop over

Power off and close the lid, then turn the laptop upside down on a soft surface.

  2. 2

    Read the printed label

Find the line marked Product or Model — for example ZBook 15 G6.

Method 2

Use the System Information shortcut.

Label worn out or unreadable? HP laptops open System Information with a single key combo.

  1. 1

    Press Fn + Esc

With Windows open, press Fn + Esc to bring up the System Information panel.

  2. 2

    Read the product details

The panel lists your product name and processor — everything we need for a quote.

Method 3

Open HP Support Assistant.

Most HP laptops ship with the Support Assistant app pre-installed.

  1. 1

    Search for the app

Type HP Support Assistant into the taskbar search box and open it.

  2. 2

    Check My Dashboard

Open My Dashboard to see the product name and serial number for your laptop.
