The Gigabyte AORUS 7 Series covers two distinct laptop generations built for gamers who want dedicated NVIDIA graphics without paying flagship prices. The 2020 lineup (sold as the AORUS 7 KB, AORUS 7 SB, and AORUS 7 MB) paired a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 with GTX or early RTX graphics, while the 2023 refresh (the AORUS 7 9MF and AORUS 7 9KF) moved to 12th Gen Intel silicon and RTX 40-series mobile GPUs. Both generations hold resale value because a working discrete GPU still matters more to a gaming buyer than raw age. If you have one sitting in a drawer, pick your processor, graphics card and condition in the tool above for a live cash offer, or see how the process works before you commit. Confirm you have the AORUS 7
The fastest way to confirm your exact variant is through Windows itself. Press the Windows key + R, type msinfo32, and hit enter — the "System Model" field will show the full model string, including the KB, SB, MB, 9MF, or 9KF suffix. You can also check the sticker on the underside of the chassis, which lists the model number and serial. If Windows won't boot, that sticker is your only source.
AORUS 7 KB / SB / MB (2020)
- 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor
- NVIDIA GTX 1650, GTX 1660 Ti, RTX 2060, or RTX 2070 graphics depending on trim
- Ships with Windows 10, upgradable to Windows 11
AORUS 7 9MF / 9KF (2023)
- 12th Gen Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor
- NVIDIA RTX 4050 or RTX 4060 graphics
- Ships with Windows 11
Prefer a visual check? The 2023 refresh has a cleaner rear vent design and a slightly revised keyboard deck compared to the 2020 units. Both generations carry the AORUS falcon badge on the lid, so badge alone won't tell you the year — the model sticker underneath will. If you're unsure which family you have before checking the sticker, our model finder can help narrow it down.
Core hardware configurations
Processor
- Intel Core i7, 10th Gen (2020 models)
- Intel Core i5, 12th Gen (2023 models)
- Intel Core i7, 12th Gen (2023 models)
Graphics
- NVIDIA GTX 1650 or GTX 1660 Ti
- NVIDIA RTX 2060 or RTX 2070
- NVIDIA RTX 4050 or RTX 4060
The GPU tier moves resale value more than any other single spec on this series. An RTX 4060 configuration will always quote higher than a GTX 1650 unit, even at the same processor tier.
Memory & storage
- RAM installed via SO-DIMM slots, generally user-upgradable on both generations
- Primary storage on an M.2 NVMe SSD
A working, correctly-seated SSD and RAM module matter more for grading than exact capacity — a laptop that boots cleanly and passes diagnostics quotes better than one that doesn't.
Display & audio
Display: A 15.6-inch Full HD panel across both generations, tuned for a high refresh rate that suits fast-paced gaming over color-accurate work.
Audio: Built-in stereo speakers with a standard 3.5mm combo jack for a headset. Nothing here is a differentiator between trims.
Keyboard: RGB backlighting via Gigabyte's Fusion software, with lighting zone count varying by trim level rather than by year.
Ports & connectivity
Both generations lean into a gamer's port list: enough wired video and data out to run an external monitor and peripherals without a dock.
- HDMI output
- Mini DisplayPort
- Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45)
- USB-A ports
- USB-C
- 3.5mm audio combo jack
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth

Battery, build & more
Software: Windows 10 on early 2020 units, Windows 11 on 2023 units and most updated 2020 units. Gigabyte Control Center handles fan curves, lighting, and macro keys.
Market positioning: This series sits in the budget-to-mid-range gaming tier. It competes on GPU-per-dollar rather than build materials, so a functioning graphics card is the single biggest driver of what it quotes for.
Known issues: Like most thin gaming chassis in this price class, fan noise and heat under sustained load are commonly reported. This doesn't affect grading unless thermal throttling has caused physical damage.
Accessories: The original barrel-style power brick adds value to your quote if you still have it. A missing charger is fine but worth noting during grading.
