The ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 is ASUS's dual-screen flagship gaming laptop, built in two generations: the GX550 of 2020 on 10th-gen Intel, and the GX551 "SE" of 2021 on AMD Ryzen 5000. Both carry the ROG ScreenPad Plus — a second display above the keyboard that tilts up as you open the lid — which pushes the keyboard to the front edge and puts the touchpad to its right. Because the two generations share a chassis, the model code on the bottom panel is what separates them, and the graphics tier inside sets most of the value.

Find your model code

Turn the laptop over. The label on the bottom panel reads Model: GX550 or Model: GX551 followed by two or three letters that identify the graphics card. If the sticker is worn and the laptop boots, press the Windows key, type msinfo32, press Enter, and read the "System Model" line.

Both generations use liquid metal thermal compound on the CPU.

Graphics (GPU)

  • 2021: RTX 3060 6GB, RTX 3070 8GB or RTX 3080 (8GB or 16GB GDDR6)

The 16GB RTX 3080 was the top GX551QS configuration and is the most valuable graphics option in the line — check yours in Task Manager under Performance → GPU before quoting.

Memory (RAM)

  • DDR4-3200 in 16GB, 24GB, 32GB or 48GB
  • Half the memory is soldered to the board; one SO-DIMM slot is user-accessible. The soldered portion cannot be changed.

If you added a module to the free slot, quote the total capacity the laptop reports now, not the factory figure.

Storage

  • Two M.2 NVMe slots, frequently shipped as 2× 1TB in RAID 0
  • Common capacities: 1TB single drive, or 2TB total across two drives

A RAID 0 pair reports as one large volume in Windows. Quote the combined capacity.

Displays

Main display (15.6")

  • 2020: FHD 1920 × 1080 at 300Hz, or 4K 3840 × 2160 at 60Hz (100% Adobe RGB, Pantone Validated). Both G-SYNC.
  • 2021: FHD 1920 × 1080 at 300Hz, or 4K 3840 × 2160 at 120Hz. Both Adaptive-Sync.

The 4K panels are worth notably more than the FHD ones. Check under Settings → System → Display → Advanced display.

ScreenPad Plus & audio

A 14.1-inch touchscreen second display that tilts up 13° when the lid opens, both for viewing angle and airflow. 2020: 3840 × 1100. 2021: 1920 × 550.

If the tilt mechanism no longer raises the panel, or the second screen has dead touch zones, flag it in your condition selection — it is the most repair-prone part of this machine.

Audio is a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos; the 2020 model adds an ESS Sabre DAC. Neither generation has a webcam. That is by design and does not reduce your offer.

Not fitted to either generation: no SD card reader, no webcam, no fingerprint reader, no optical drive, and no Thunderbolt on the 2021 AMD model. The 2020 Intel model is the only one with Thunderbolt 3 and a separate microphone jack.

90Wh 4-cell across both generations. Charges from a 240W or 280W barrel adapter depending on graphics tier, with USB-C Power Delivery as a secondary option for light use.

Include the original barrel adapter — USB-C alone will not sustain these under load, and a missing charger lowers the offer.

Keyboard & build

Magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis in a matte gray-black finish. Per-key RGB keyboard pushed to the front edge, with the touchpad mounted to its right and doubling as a numeric keypad.
