The Gigabyte AERO X16 is a slim 16-inch creator-and-gaming laptop built on an all-AMD platform, sold as a Copilot+ PC in a 16.75 mm chassis weighing roughly 1.9 kg (4.19 lb). It has shipped in two distinct generations: the original EG61H family launched in 2025 (model codes 1TH, 1VH, 1WH, and 2WH) running AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors, and the EG64H refresh introduced in 2026 (model codes 3TH, 3VH, 3WH, 4VH, 4WH, and 4PH) running newer AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series and Ryzen 200 Series chips. The two look virtually identical from the outside — same lid, same ports, same weight — so the model code on the bottom of your machine is what actually determines your payout. Because every AERO X16 ships with upgradable memory and two SSD slots, no two used units are alike. Select your processor and graphics card using our tool above to view an instant cash offer, and if your exact combination isn't listed, request a custom quote instead. Most owners never realize a working gaming laptop can be traded in for real cash rather than sold to a stranger — our gaming laptop trade-in service pays by direct electronic transfer, covers shipping both ways, and charges no listing or seller fees.

Which AERO X16 do you have?

Flip the laptop over. Gigabyte prints the model code on the bottom label in the format AERO X16 [code], and retail box SKUs extend it (for example 2WHA3USC64AH for Space Gray or 2WHA3USC64DH for Lunar White). The first character is the platform tier and the second is the graphics tier.

❌ Not this device

  • Gigabyte AERO 16 / AERO 16 OLED — the older Intel-based creator line with an OLED panel and an SD card reader
  • Gigabyte AORUS 16 — thicker gaming chassis, per-key RGB, higher-wattage GPUs
  • Gigabyte GAMING A16 — lower-cost line, WUXGA-only panels
  • The AERO X16 is AMD-only. If your processor says Intel, you do not have an AERO X16.

Display & audio

Display

16-inch 16:10 IPS panel with 4-sided slim bezels and a 92% screen-to-body ratio, Pantone Validated and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified. The main option is WQXGA (2560 × 1600) at 165Hz, 3ms, 100% sRGB — rated 400 nits on 2025 EG61H units and 500 nits on 2026 EG64H units. Selected 2025 models with the Ryzen AI 7 350 were also offered with a lower WUXGA (1920 × 1200) 165Hz panel at 300 nits; the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 model was WQXGA only. There is no OLED and no touchscreen option on any AERO X16.

Audio

Two 2W speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos for virtual 5.1.2-channel spatial sound, plus a built-in array microphone. Modest 2W drivers are a known trade-off of the thin chassis.

Ports & connectivity

The port layout is identical across both the 2025 and 2026 generations, so it cannot be used to tell them apart.

Left Side
  • 1× DC-in power connector
  • 1× RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet (1G — this is not a 2.5G port)
  • 1× HDMI 2.1
  • 1× USB-A 3.2 Gen 1
  • 1× USB-C USB4 at 40Gbps (supports DisplayPort 1.4 output and Power Delivery 3.0 charging — but it is USB4 on an AMD platform, not Thunderbolt)
Right Side & Absent Features
  • 1× USB-A 3.2 Gen 1
  • 1× USB-A 2.0 (legacy speed only — best used for a mouse or keyboard, not an external drive)
  • 1× 3.5mm headphone/microphone combo jack
  • No SD or microSD card reader on any model (a frequent point of confusion — the older Intel AERO 16 line did include one)
  • Only one USB-C port, and no separate DisplayPort connector

Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax 2×2) Bluetooth 5.2 (2025) Bluetooth 5.3 (2026) Gigabit LAN Copilot+ PC (Ryzen AI models)

Battery, build & more

Battery & charging

Single 76Wh lithium-ion battery across every configuration — there is no larger or smaller battery option. Shipped with a 150W AC adapter, and also chargeable over USB-C using Power Delivery 3.0. Gigabyte rates fast charging at 50% in 30 minutes on AC. Include the original 150W adapter if you still have it; a missing charger reduces your offer.

Camera & sign-in

FHD 1080p infrared webcam with a built-in array microphone, supporting Windows Hello face authentication. Gigabyte does not list a fingerprint reader on this chassis, so face recognition is the only biometric sign-in.

Keyboard & touchpad

Single-zone RGB backlit keyboard with up to 1.7mm key travel and N-Key rollover, marketed as the Golden Curve keyboard with dished keycaps. Note this is one-zone lighting, not per-key RGB, paired with an enlarged touchpad.

Cooling

WINDFORCE Infinity cooling using two 12V fans with 3D VortX air channeling — two-sided inlets and four-way outlets. GiMATE, Gigabyte's onboard AI assistant, manages a near-silent 0dB profile under light load.

Weight & finish

≈ 1.9 kg (4.19 lb). Anodized and sandblasted aluminum chassis with an iridescent NIL nameplate, offered in Space Gray and Lunar White.

Dimensions

355 × 250.7 × 16.75–19.99 mm (13.98" × 9.87" × 0.66"–0.79").

Frequently asked questions

01 How do I find my exact AERO X16 model number?
Close the lid and turn the laptop upside down. On the bottom panel there is a printed label reading AERO X16 followed by a three-character code such as 1WH, 2WH, 3VH, or 4PH. That code is the single most useful thing you can tell us. If the label has worn off, you can get everything you need from Windows instead: click Start, type System Information and press Enter to read your processor, then press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, open the Performance tab and click GPU to read your graphics card. Those two answers are all our quote tool asks for. For screenshots and a walkthrough, see our guide to finding your laptop's model number or the brand-specific Gigabyte and AORUS instructions.
02 How is the AERO X16 different from the AERO 16, AORUS 16, and GAMING A16?
These are separate product lines that are easy to mix up, and quoting the wrong one will change your offer. The AERO X16 is AMD-only, 16.75mm thick, has an IPS display, and has no SD card reader. The older AERO 16 and AERO 16 OLED run Intel processors, use an OLED panel, and do include a card reader. The AORUS 16 is a thicker, heavier gaming machine with per-key RGB lighting and higher-wattage graphics. The GAMING A16 is the budget line and generally ships with a lower-resolution WUXGA panel. Quick test: open System Information and look at the processor. If it says Intel, it is not an AERO X16. Just as important, check whether your machine is the 2025 or 2026 generation — the quote tool above prices the 2025 EG61H models (Ryzen AI 7 350 and Ryzen AI 9 HX 370). If your processor is a Ryzen AI 9 465, Ryzen 9 270, or Ryzen 7 260, you have the 2026 EG64H refresh; please use our custom quote form so we can price it correctly. You can also browse everything we buy from this manufacturer on our Gigabyte trade-in page.
03 Will you buy my AERO X16 if it's damaged, worn, or has been upgraded?
Yes. We buy these in every condition, from sealed and unused down to non-functional. Cracked screens, dead batteries, failing fans, dented lids, faulty keyboards, missing SSDs, and units that will not power on all still have value — just mark the matching boxes in the condition and functionality sections above and your offer adjusts automatically. Upgrades are welcome rather than a problem: because the AERO X16 has two real SO-DIMM sockets and two M.2 slots, plenty of owners have added memory or a second drive. Extra RAM and extra storage increase what we can pay, so mention them. Removing a bottom panel to install parts does not void your quote. If your machine has an unusual combination that the selectors above cannot capture, send us the details through the custom quote form.
04 What raises my AERO X16 trade-in value the most?
The graphics card is the single biggest factor. An RTX 5070 configuration is worth substantially more than an RTX 5060, which in turn beats an RTX 5050 — and the 2026 4PH model with the 12GB RTX 5070 sits at the very top, since the extra video memory is genuinely scarce in this chassis. After that: the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 outranks the Ryzen AI 7 350, upgraded memory beyond the factory 16GB helps, a second populated M.2 drive helps, and the brighter WQXGA panel is worth more than the WUXGA option. Including the original 150W adapter matters too. Many people don't realize a used gaming laptop is worth trading in at all — these machines retailed between roughly $1,499 and $1,899 in the US, and even after heavy discounting they retain meaningful residual value. Rather than photographing it, listing it, negotiating with strangers, and paying a marketplace commission, our trade-in process gives you a locked-in price up front, free insured shipping, and no seller fees. For context on how AMD-based gaming laptops hold their value, see our blog post on AMD vs Intel gaming laptops and resale value, along with how much you should sell an old gaming PC for.
05 How do I wipe my data, and when do I get paid?
Back up anything you want to keep — game saves, project files, photos — to an external drive or cloud storage first. Then sign out of your Microsoft account and run Settings → System → Recovery → Reset this PC, choosing to remove everything. Because this is a Copilot+ PC, also sign out of any linked Microsoft 365 or OneDrive session. If the laptop was issued by an employer or school, ask your IT department to release it from Intune, Autopilot, or any other device management enrollment before shipping; a device still enrolled cannot be resold and will lower your offer. Do not remove the SSDs — a machine missing storage is worth less, and our technicians run certified erasure on every incoming drive regardless. Details are on our data erasure protocols page. Once your laptop arrives and passes inspection, payment is issued within two business days by PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, or a mailed check. Packing and label instructions are in our shipping guide.
