The Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable (Gen 1, released 2021) is a 12.3-inch Windows 2-in-1 — a tablet with a detachable keyboard and bundled pen, built as ThinkPad's business-grade answer to the Surface Pro. It pairs 11th-gen Intel Core (Tiger Lake) processors with a magnesium-alloy chassis, a bright 3:2 touchscreen, and the classic ThinkPad keyboard and TrackPoint in its folio. Because it shipped in several processor, memory, and storage combinations, your exact build determines the offer. Frequently asked questions

01 How do I confirm I have the ThinkPad X12 Detachable?
Flip the tablet over and read the label near the regulatory markings — it lists "ThinkPad X12 Detachable" and a Machine Type Model (MTM) beginning 20UV or 20UW. Don't confuse it with the older ThinkPad X1 Tablet, the clamshell X13, or the newer X12 Detachable Gen 2 (which uses Intel Core Ultra chips). The Gen 1 is the 12.3-inch, 11th-gen Intel detachable from 2021. Our guide to finding your laptop's model number walks you through it.
02 Do I need the keyboard and pen to sell it?
You can sell the tablet on its own, but the X12 Detachable originally shipped with its folio keyboard and a pen, and including them increases your offer since a complete unit is more valuable on the resale market. If you still have the keyboard and pen, select that in the quote and pack them with the tablet. If either is missing or damaged, just describe the device accurately and the offer will reflect it.
03 Should I wipe my data before shipping?
We recommend backing up your files and signing out of your accounts first. The SSD is a single soldered-in-place M.2 2242 drive, so there's no need to remove it — every device we receive goes through certified data erasure. On an LTE model, remember to remove your nano-SIM. You can read exactly how we handle erasure on our data erasure protocols page.
04 What raises my ThinkPad X12 trade-in value the most?
The processor is the biggest driver — a Core i7 (1160G7 or 1180G7) is worth more than an i5 or i3. Because the RAM is soldered, the memory it shipped with is locked in, so a 16GB unit is worth meaningfully more than an 8GB one. A larger SSD (512GB or 1TB), the optional 4G LTE/WWAN modem, vPro, and including the keyboard and pen all raise the offer. As a business-grade ThinkPad, it holds salvage value well, so accurate condition reporting helps you get the strongest quote.
05 How and when do I get paid?
Once we receive and inspect your ThinkPad X12 Detachable, payment is issued within two business days. You can choose to be paid by check, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or CashApp. Shipping to us is always free and insured with a prepaid label.
