Looking to sell your Apple Mac mini (2024) for cash? You're in the right place — GadgetSalvation buys the M4 and M4 Pro Mac mini directly, with a free quote, free insured shipping, and fast payment. The Mac mini (2024) was Apple's biggest redesign of the little desktop in over a decade, shrinking it to a 5 × 5-inch aluminum cube while moving to the M4 and M4 Pro chips. Two front USB-C ports joined the rear Thunderbolt array, and the M4 Pro added Thunderbolt 5. Because the chip tier, RAM, and storage were all chosen at checkout — and the RAM is soldered with no upgrade path — your exact configuration determines what your Mac mini is worth today. Pick your specs in the tool above to see an instant trade-in offer.
Make sure you're identifying the right model first. The Mac mini has used similar enclosures across generations, and the wrong page will misquote your device:
- The Mac mini (M2 / M2 Pro, 2023) uses the older, wider/flatter enclosure (7.7 inches square, ~1.4 inches tall). The 2024 model is a noticeably smaller, taller 5-inch cube. If yours is the larger flat box, it's the 2023 model with its own page.
- Within 2024, the M4 and M4 Pro are different SKUs with very different value. Check the chip in About This Mac before quoting.
Core hardware configurations

- M4 Pro: 12-core CPU / 16-core GPU, or 14-core CPU / 20-core GPU (273GB/s bandwidth)
- 16-core Neural Engine, hardware ray tracing + AV1 decode across all chips
- The chip tier is the single biggest value driver — confirm yours before quoting

- M4: 16GB base, configurable to 24GB or 32GB
- M4 Pro: 24GB base, configurable to 48GB or 64GB

- M4 Pro: 512GB base, configurable to 1TB / 2TB / 4TB / 8TB

Finish & form

- Power button relocated to the underside this generation
Ports & connectivity
A standout of the 2024 redesign: two USB-C ports and the headphone jack moved to the front for easy access, while the high-speed Thunderbolt array, HDMI, and Ethernet stay on the back. The Thunderbolt generation is the clearest tell between the two chips.
- 2× USB-C ports (USB 3, up to 10Gb/s)
- 1× 3.5mm headphone jack
- 3× Thunderbolt ports (Thunderbolt 4 / 40Gb/s on M4; Thunderbolt 5 / 120Gb/s on M4 Pro)
- 1× HDMI 2.1 port
- 1× Gigabit Ethernet (configurable to 10Gb Ethernet)
Thunderbolt asymmetry: the M4 has three Thunderbolt 4 ports (40Gb/s); the M4 Pro has three Thunderbolt 5 ports (up to 120Gb/s). This, plus the chip name in About This Mac, is the surest way to tell the two apart.

Power, build & more
Power supply
Built-in internal power supply — no external brick — fed by a single detachable AC power cord (1.8 m). Maximum continuous power draw is 155W. This is the only cable in the box.
Cooling
Active fan cooling redesigned for the smaller cube, with airflow drawn through the base. Near-silent in normal use — about 5 dBA at idle from the operator position.
Audio
Built-in speaker plus a 3.5mm headphone jack with high-impedance support. HDMI carries multichannel audio out to a display or receiver.
What's needed to use it
Ships headless — no display, keyboard, or mouse included. Buyers supply their own, which is part of why the Mac mini holds strong resale demand as an affordable entry into the Mac ecosystem.

Dimensions
127 × 127 × 50 mm (5.0" × 5.0" × 2.0").
