The Razer Blade 17 family — sold as the Razer Blade Pro 17 from 2019 through 2021 and simply the Razer Blade 17 in its final 2022 generation — is Razer's flagship 17.3-inch desktop-replacement line, machined from a single block of CNC aluminum with the brand's signature matte-black finish and per-key Chroma RGB keyboard. Across four generations (model numbers RZ09-0287x and RZ09-0314x for 2019, RZ09-0329x for 2020, RZ09-0368x for 2021, and RZ09-0423x for 2022), the platform climbed from 6-core Intel processors with RTX 20-series graphics all the way to 14-core 12th-gen chips paired with an RTX 3080 Ti — which means two Blade 17s that look identical on the outside can differ by hundreds of dollars in resale value. If yours has been retired to a shelf, you can sell your gaming laptop to us for cash instead of letting it depreciate. Which Razer Blade 17 do you have?
Confirming your generation
- Flip the laptop over — the RZ09-xxxx model number is printed on the regulatory label on the bottom panel
- RZ09-0287x / RZ09-0314x → Blade Pro 17 (2019) — Intel Core i7-9750H
- RZ09-0329x → Blade Pro 17 (2020) — Intel Core i7-10875H + RTX 20-series
- RZ09-0368x → Blade Pro 17 (2021) — Intel Core i7-10875H + RTX 30-series
- RZ09-0423x → Blade 17 (2022) — Intel Core i7-12800H or i9-12900H
- No label handy? Type "System Information" into the Windows Start menu — the Processor line identifies your generation instantly: i7-9750H = 2019, i7-10875H = 2020 or 2021 (RTX 20-series graphics = 2020, RTX 30-series = 2021), i7-12800H / i9-12900H = 2022

Display & audio
Display
Every generation uses a 17.3-inch panel with slim bezels, but the exact panel changes your value. 2019: FHD (1920 × 1080) at 144Hz, with the late-2019 refresh (RZ09-0314x) adding 240Hz FHD and a 4K (3840 × 2160) 120Hz touchscreen. 2020: 300Hz FHD or 4K 120Hz touch. 2021: 360Hz FHD, 165Hz QHD (2560 × 1440), or 4K 120Hz touch. 2022: 360Hz FHD, 240Hz QHD, or a 144Hz 4K panel. Higher-resolution and touch-enabled panels command stronger offers.
Audio
Front-firing stereo speakers flanking the keyboard on both sides, THX Spatial Audio certification, and a 3.5mm combo jack. The 2022 model upgraded to an 8-speaker array with smart amplifiers.
Ports & connectivity
Unusually for a thin-chassis gaming machine, every Blade 17 generation kept a full-size SD card slot and wired 2.5-gigabit Ethernet — one of the reasons creators favored this line as much as gamers did.
- 1× Power input (proprietary Razer connector)
- 1× RJ-45 2.5Gb Ethernet
- 2× USB-A 3.2 Gen 2
- 1× USB-C (Thunderbolt 4 on the 2022 model; USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 on 2019–2021)
- 1× 3.5mm headphone/microphone combo jack
- 1× Thunderbolt USB-C (Thunderbolt 3 on 2019–2021; Thunderbolt 4 on 2022 — giving the final generation two Thunderbolt 4 ports)
- 1× USB-A 3.2 Gen 2
- 1× HDMI (HDMI 2.0b on 2019–2021; HDMI 2.1 on 2022)
- 1× Full-size SD card reader (UHS-III on 2019–2021, UHS-II on 2022)
- 1× Kensington security slot
Wi-Fi 6 (2019–2020) Wi-Fi 6E (2021–2022) Bluetooth 5.1 / 5.2 2.5Gb Ethernet — all years
Battery, build & more
Battery & charging
2019–2021 generations carry a 70.5 Wh battery with a 230W adapter. The 2022 Blade 17 stepped up to an 82 Wh battery — the largest ever fitted to a Blade at the time — with a compact 280W GaN charger. No generation charges at full speed over USB-C, so include the original Razer power brick with your shipment if you still have it.
Camera & mic
All generations include a Windows Hello IR webcam for face-unlock login: 720p on the 2019–2021 models, upgraded to full 1080p FHD on the 2022 Blade 17, with array microphones throughout.
Keyboard & Chroma RGB
Full-size backlit keyboard with per-key Razer Chroma RGB lighting controlled through Synapse software. Note that no Blade 17 generation includes a dedicated number pad — the speakers occupy that space, which is one quick way to distinguish it from many other 17-inch gaming laptops.
Cooling
Vapor chamber cooling across all generations rather than conventional heat pipes. The 2022 model enlarged the chamber with more exhaust fins and quieter fans.
Weight
≈ 2.75 kg (6.06 lb) across all four generations — remarkably consistent for the class.
Dimensions
395 × 260 × 19.9 mm (15.55" × 10.24" × 0.78") — a 17.3-inch display in a footprint closer to many 15-inch machines.
