The Sony PlayStation 5 Pro (model CFI-7000 series), unveiled September 10 and released November 7, 2024, is the mid-generation premium refresh of the PS5 — built around a roughly 67% larger GPU (about 45% faster rendering), Sony's AI-driven PSSR upscaling, dramatically faster ray tracing, and a 2TB SSD built in. It is not the standard PS5, the PS5 Slim, or the Digital Edition — all of which look broadly similar but are valued on separate pages. Critically, the PS5 Pro ships digital-only by default: the disc drive is an external add-on, so whether you still have it (and the vertical stand) affects your offer. If you're looking to sell your console online, this is also where many owners learn that Gadget Salvation buys PlayStation consoles directly for real cash — Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or check — with free shipping, no listings, and no haggling. Select your configuration and condition using our tool above to see an instant cash offer for your exact device.
Confirm you have the PS5 Pro (not the standard PS5 or Slim)
The PS5 generation has several similar-looking models. The PS5 Pro is the giveaway up close: it's taller than the PS5 Slim, has three horizontal vent lines across the side panels, and carries a model number beginning with CFI-7000. The original launch PS5 (CFI-1000/1100/1200) is the largest with curved white panels; the 2023 PS5 Slim (CFI-2000) is noticeably smaller with a split two-tone panel; the Digital Edition of any model simply lacks a built-in disc drive. You can confirm the model number on the label on the rear/underside of the console, or in Settings → System → Console Information. Our guide to finding your gadget's model walks through locating it.
