The ASUS Zenbook A14 (UX3407) is ASUS's ultralight 14-inch Copilot+ PC, launched at CES 2025 as the first Zenbook built with an all-Ceraluminum chassis and the first to run Qualcomm Snapdragon processors instead of Intel or AMD. It weighs under a kilogram — around 2.2 pounds — which makes it the lightest 14-inch laptop ASUS has ever shipped. Three versions have been sold under the same UX3407 body: the UX3407QA and UX3407RA from 2025, and the UX3407NA introduced for 2026 on the Snapdragon X2 Elite. They are physically identical, so the two letters at the end of the model code are what set your quote apart. Gadget Salvation has bought used laptops for cash since 2008, so rather than listing yours and dealing with buyers, you can trade in your Zenbook A14 for a locked quote and free insured shipping. Find your code below, then choose your components above for an instant cash offer.

Which Zenbook A14 do you have?

Close the lid and turn the laptop over. ASUS prints a label on the bottom panel with a line reading Model: UX3407 followed by two letters — QA, RA or NA. Every A14 uses the same chassis, the same ports and the same 14-inch screen size, so those two letters are the only thing that tells you which processor generation is inside.

✅ UX3407QA — 2025, entry

  • Processor: Snapdragon X X1-26-100 (8 cores, up to 2.97 GHz, 30MB cache) or Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 (8 cores, up to 3.2 GHz, 30MB cache)

  • All-Ceraluminum chassis, matte and soft to the touch, not glossy metal
  • US MIL-STD 810H tested
  • No touchscreen on any configuration
  • Qualcomm Adreno integrated graphics — there is no discrete GPU option

❌ Not this page

  • Zenbook 14 (UX3405) — Intel Core Ultra, heavier at roughly 1.2 kg, and usually a touchscreen. The closest look-alike in the range.
  • Zenbook 14 OLED (UM3406) — AMD Ryzen processor
  • Zenbook S 14 (UX5406) — Intel Lunar Lake, Ceraluminum on the lid only rather than the whole body
  • Zenbook S 16, Zenbook 14 Flip, Zenbook Duo — different screen sizes or hinges
  • Vivobook S 14 — plastic and aluminum, noticeably heavier, lower price tier

The decisive test is the processor. If yours reads Intel or AMD, it is not a Zenbook A14 — every single A14 runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip.

Label worn off? Press the Windows key, type msinfo32, press Enter, and read the "System Model" line — it prints the full code. The same screen shows "Processor," which should begin with Snapdragon, and "System Type," which will read ARM64-based PC on every A14. The preinstalled MyASUS app shows the model on its home screen too. Our guide to finding an ASUS model number shows where the label sits, and this page covers reading your processor type.

Core hardware

Processor (CPU)

  • Snapdragon X X1-26-100 — 8 cores, 8 threads, up to 2.97 GHz, 30MB cache (UX3407QA)
  • Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 — 8 cores, 8 threads, up to 3.2 GHz, 30MB cache (UX3407QA)
  • Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 — 12 cores, 12 threads, up to 3.4 GHz, 42MB cache (UX3407RA)
  • Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100 — 18 cores, 18 threads, boost to 4.7 GHz, 53MB cache (UX3407NA)

These are ARM-based chips, not x86. That means the A14 runs the ARM build of Windows 11, and it will not run Windows 10 or older releases. Most mainstream software works, either natively or through emulation, but some specialist applications, drivers and games do not.

Graphics & NPU

  • Qualcomm Adreno integrated graphics on every configuration
  • Qualcomm Hexagon NPU: up to 45 TOPS on UX3407QA and UX3407RA, up to 80 TOPS on UX3407NA
  • All three qualify as Copilot+ PCs, which requires an NPU of at least 40 TOPS

There is no discrete graphics card and no option to add one. This is a productivity ultraportable, not a gaming machine.

Memory (RAM)

  • LPDDR5X in either 16GB or 32GB
  • Maximum supported: 32GB

The memory is soldered directly to the mainboard on every Zenbook A14. There are no SO-DIMM slots and no way to add more after purchase, so whatever your laptop shipped with is what it will always have. This makes RAM capacity a permanent, locked-in value driver — a 32GB A14 is worth meaningfully more than a 16GB one, and nobody can close that gap with an upgrade.

Storage

  • 512GB or 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD
  • One M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot in total, and it is occupied from the factory

The single drive is replaceable, so an owner-fitted larger SSD does count toward your quote — select the capacity the laptop has now. Only single-sided M.2 drives fit, because of components mounted beside the slot. There is no second slot and no expansion card.

Display & audio

Display

Every A14 uses a 14.0-inch 16:10 panel with a 90% screen-to-body ratio, and none of them is a touchscreen. Three panel types were fitted across the line:

  • WUXGA 1920 × 1200 IPS-level, 60Hz — 400 nits, 100% sRGB, anti-glare matte. The entry panel, and the only non-OLED option.
  • WUXGA 1920 × 1200 OLED, 60Hz — 400 nits, 600-nit HDR peak, 100% DCI-P3, 0.2ms response, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600
  • 3K 2880 × 1800 OLED, 120Hz — 400 nits, 100% DCI-P3, 0.2ms response. Higher-tier versions reach a 1100-nit HDR peak and DisplayHDR True Black 1000.

To check yours without guessing, open Settings → System → Display → Advanced display. It shows both the resolution and the refresh rate. 2880 × 1800 at 120Hz is the most valuable panel; 1920 × 1200 at 60Hz on an IPS screen is the least.

Audio, camera & microphone

Built-in stereo speakers with ASUS Smart Amp technology and a built-in array microphone with AI noise cancellation.

The A14 has a full HD webcam with an infrared sensor for Windows Hello face sign-in, mounted in the top bezel. Unlike ASUS's ROG Strix gaming laptops, a camera is standard here — if yours is missing one, you have a different model.

OLED configurations can develop burn-in after years of static taskbars or window borders. If you see faint permanent ghosting on a uniform background, note it in your condition selection, since it affects value on the OLED panels.

Ports & connectivity

The port selection is identical on all three versions — a genuinely useful set for a laptop this thin, including full-size HDMI and USB-A.

Ports
  • 2× USB4 Gen 3 Type-C, up to 40Gbps (both support DisplayPort video output and USB-C Power Delivery charging)
  • 1× USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, up to 10Gbps
  • 1× HDMI 2.1 TMDS
  • 1× 3.5mm combo headphone and microphone jack
Charging & security
  • Charges over USB-C only — there is no barrel power port (65W or 68W on UX3407QA, 90W on UX3407RA, 100W on UX3407NA)
  • Firmware TPM and a Microsoft Pluton security processor
  • IR webcam with Windows Hello face recognition
  • BIOS setup and boot password support

Not fitted to any Zenbook A14: no SD or microSD card reader, no Ethernet port, no fingerprint reader (face recognition only), no touchscreen, no stylus support, no optical drive, no discrete graphics, and no barrel charging port. The USB-C ports are USB4 rather than Thunderbolt-branded, though they carry the same 40Gbps ceiling.

Battery, build & more

Battery

A 3-cell lithium-ion pack, either 70Wh or 48Wh. The 48Wh pack appears only on lighter UX3407QA configurations; the RA and NA versions all use the 70Wh cell. Battery life is the headline feature of this machine — ASUS quotes well over a full working day on the larger pack, and independent reviewers consistently confirmed multi-day light use.

If your battery no longer holds a charge or the chassis has started to bulge, note it in your condition selection. We still buy the laptop.

Charging

USB-C Power Delivery through either Type-C port. The bundled adapter varies by version: a 65W or 68W ultra-mini brick on the UX3407QA, 90W on the UX3407RA, and 100W on the UX3407NA.

Include the original ASUS adapter and, if you still have it, the fabric sleeve that shipped in the box. Both help the offer. A generic USB-C charger will run the laptop, but the matched adapter is worth sending.

Chassis & finish

The A14 is the first Zenbook with a full Ceraluminum body — a ceramic-treated aluminum alloy that is matte, soft to the touch, and much harder to scratch than anodized metal. It carries US MIL-STD 810H durability testing.

Ceraluminum resists fingerprints well but some owners report that inks, dyes and oils can stain the lighter Zabriskie Beige finish permanently. Look the lid over in daylight before you grade the condition, since marks on this surface are easy to miss indoors.

Keyboard & touchpad

Backlit chiclet keyboard with 1.3mm of key travel and a Windows Precision touchpad. No numeric keypad. Most configurations include a dedicated Copilot key on the bottom row, which is a quick visual confirmation that you are looking at a Copilot+ era machine.

Weight

0.90 kg (1.98 lb) — lightest UX3407QA configuration
0.98 kg (2.16 lb) — UX3407QA with the 70Wh battery, and UX3407RA
0.99 kg (2.18 lb) — UX3407NA

Software & OS

Ships with Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro, ARM edition. Preinstalled ASUS software includes MyASUS, GlideX, ScreenXpert and StoryCube, with features such as AdaptiveLock, ASUS OLED Care and battery health charging.

Frequently asked questions

01 How do I confirm my laptop is a Zenbook A14, and which version?
Close the lid and flip the laptop over. On the bottom panel there is a printed label with a line reading Model: followed by a code starting with UX3407 and ending in QA, RA or NA. Write down everything before the dash. Those last two letters tell us the processor generation, which is the main thing setting your quote.

If the label is worn and the laptop still powers on, press the Windows key, type msinfo32, and press Enter. Three lines on that screen confirm everything: System Model gives the code, Processor should begin with "Snapdragon," and System Type will read "ARM64-based PC." If the processor line says Intel or AMD, this is not a Zenbook A14 and you will want a different page.

A quick physical sanity check also works. The A14 weighs about two pounds — noticeably lighter than any other 14-inch Zenbook — it comes only in Zabriskie Beige or Iceland Gray, and the screen is never a touchscreen. Our ASUS model number guide shows where the label sits, and the general model lookup page covers other devices.
02 My laptop says Zenbook but the code isn't UX3407. What do I have?
ASUS sells several 14-inch Zenbooks that look broadly similar. Each has a test that settles it:

Zenbook 14 (UX3405) — the most common mix-up. It runs an Intel Core Ultra processor, weighs roughly 1.2 kg rather than under 1 kg, and is usually sold with a touchscreen. Pick it up: if it feels solid rather than startlingly light, it is probably a UX3405. We wrote about this model in our Zenbook 14 UX3405CA overview.

Zenbook 14 OLED (UM3406) — the "UM" prefix rather than "UX" signals an AMD Ryzen processor.

Zenbook S 14 (UX5406) — Intel Lunar Lake, and Ceraluminum only on the lid. Run a finger along the palm rest and the base: on the A14 those surfaces are the same matte, slightly grainy material as the lid, because the whole body is Ceraluminum.

Vivobook S 14 and other Vivobooks — a lower price tier with plastic and aluminum construction, glossier surfaces, and more weight.

Zenbook Duo, Zenbook 14 Flip, Zenbook S 16 — a second screen, a 360-degree hinge, or a 16-inch panel, none of which the A14 has.

The single most reliable test remains the processor. Every Zenbook A14 ever built runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip on ARM. No Intel or AMD version exists. If you are still unsure, send photos of the bottom label through our custom quote form and we will identify it for you.
03 Will you buy an A14 with damage, staining, or a worn battery?
Yes. We buy these in every state — cracked screen, dented lid, failed hinge, dead keys, a battery that no longer holds charge, OLED burn-in, or a machine that will not power on at all. Choose the matching condition above and the quote adjusts to it.

Two things to look at closely on this particular model. First, the Ceraluminum finish: it shrugs off fingerprints, but ink, dye and hand oils can leave marks on the lighter Zabriskie Beige that will not clean off. Take the laptop to a window and check the lid and palm rest in daylight, because these marks are genuinely hard to see under indoor lighting and they do affect grading. Second, OLED burn-in if you have one of the OLED panels — open a plain white image full screen and look for faint permanent outlines where the taskbar sits.

On upgrades, be aware this machine offers very little scope for them. The memory is soldered and cannot be changed, and there is only one M.2 slot. If you did swap the SSD for a larger one, select the capacity it has now, since that is the one upgrade that counts here.
04 What raises the trade-in value of a Zenbook A14 the most?
The processor version sets the tier: a UX3407NA on the 18-core Snapdragon X2 Elite sits above a UX3407RA on the 12-core X Elite, which sits above a UX3407QA on the 8-core Snapdragon X. That ordering also tracks the NPU, at 80 TOPS on the NA against 45 TOPS on the other two, which matters increasingly to buyers shopping for on-device AI features.

After the chip, memory is the big one, and it is unusual. Because the RAM is soldered, a 32GB A14 and a 16GB A14 are permanently different machines — no buyer can upgrade the cheaper one later. That makes the 32GB configuration worth a lot more than the same capacity gap would be on an upgradable laptop. Make sure you select it correctly.

Then the display, where the 3K 2880 × 1800 OLED at 120Hz is worth considerably more than the WUXGA 60Hz OLED, and both beat the non-OLED IPS panel. After that, SSD capacity, the 70Wh battery over the 48Wh, and overall condition of the Ceraluminum finish.

One honest note specific to this machine: it runs Windows on ARM, and some buyers still avoid ARM laptops over software compatibility. That keeps resale demand a little softer than an equivalent Intel or AMD ultrabook, so the quote reflects a real market rather than the original sticker price.

Many people don't realize a trade-in service is even an option for a laptop this new, and assume the choice is between listing it themselves or taking store credit from a manufacturer or retailer program. Gadget Salvation has been buying used electronics for cash since 2008. You get a locked quote before you ship, a free prepaid and insured label, and actual money — PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, or a mailed check — instead of a gift card. No listing, no photographs, no negotiating with strangers, no chargeback risk. If you want to weigh the routes first, we covered them in trade in, resell, or donate and in laptop liquidation: options, costs and fees. For a sense of how quickly value moves, see the best time to sell your laptop and what is my laptop worth.

Because the A14 is a current model, it is holding value better than most laptops on our site right now — but each new Snapdragon generation pushes the older ones down. If you have already upgraded, quote it sooner rather than later.
05 How do I wipe my data before shipping, and how do I get paid?
Back up anything you want to keep first, to an external drive or cloud storage. Then sign out of your accounts: your Microsoft account, OneDrive, MyASUS, and any licensed software such as Microsoft 365 or Adobe, so the seat is freed for your next machine.

Two steps matter more on this laptop than on an older one. BitLocker device encryption is switched on by default on Copilot+ PCs, so before you do anything else, confirm your recovery key is saved to your Microsoft account or written down somewhere other than the laptop. And if you turned on Recall, the Copilot+ feature that periodically saves snapshots of your screen, be aware those snapshots live in an encrypted store on the local drive. A full reset clears them, but it is worth knowing they exist before you hand the machine over.

To reset, go to Settings → System → Recovery → Reset this PC and choose "Remove everything." That also clears the Windows Hello face data from the IR camera. If you set a BIOS or boot password in the ASUS firmware, clear it before shipping, because a locked BIOS holds up processing.

You do not need to open the laptop or remove the SSD. Our technicians run certified multi-pass data sanitization on every drive that arrives, documented in full on our data erasure protocols page. Packing guidance is on the shipping instructions page, and the label is free and fully insured.

Once your laptop arrives and clears intake testing, payment is approved within about two business days. Choose PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, or a paper check mailed to your address.
