The ASUS ZenBook Duo is ASUS's dual-screen 14-inch productivity laptop, and the name covers two very different machines. The 2020 UX481 and 2021–2022 UX482 are conventional clamshells with a ScreenPad Plus — a wide secondary strip above the keyboard — and the keyboard pushed to the front edge. The 2024–2025 UX8406 abandoned that design entirely for two full 14-inch OLED touchscreens and a detachable keyboard, with a kickstand behind the lower panel. Because a 2020 Core i5 model and a 2025 Core Ultra 9 model share a product name and little else, the code on the bottom panel determines your quote.

Turn the laptop over. The bottom-panel label reads Model: UX481, UX482, or UX8406. If it boots, press the Windows key, type msinfo32, press Enter, and read the "System Model" and "Processor" lines — between them, they identify the generation exactly.
✅ UX481 — 2020
- Sold as: ZenBook Duo 14
- Processor: Intel Core i5-10210U or Core i7-10510U — 10th generation Comet Lake
- Graphics: Intel UHD, or optional NVIDIA GeForce MX250
- Tell: the ScreenPad Plus lies flat in the deck and does not tilt. This is the quickest way to separate it from the UX482.
✅ UX482 — 2021–2022
- Sold as: ZenBook Duo 14. Variants include UX482EA and UX482EG.
- Processor: Intel Core i5-1135G7 or Core i7-1165G7 — 11th generation Tiger Lake
- Graphics: Intel Iris Xe, or optional NVIDIA GeForce MX450 on UX482EG
- Tell: the ScreenPad Plus tilts up about 7° on a rising hinge as the lid opens. Brighter than the UX481 panel.
✅ UX8406 — 2024–2025
- UX8406MA (2024): Intel Core Ultra 7 155H or Core Ultra 9 185H — 16 cores, 22 threads, 11 TOPS NPU
- UX8406CA (2025): Intel Core Ultra 7 255H or Core Ultra 9 285H — 16 cores, 16 threads, 13 TOPS NPU
- US SKUs: UX8406MA-PS99T, UX8406CA-PS99T
- Tell: two full 14-inch OLED screens and a detachable keyboard — unmistakable. To separate 2024 from 2025: 2024 has Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3; 2025 has Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

- ZenBook Pro Duo 15 (UX581, UX582) — 15.6-inch, discrete RTX graphics, much heavier
- ZenBook Pro 14 Duo (UX8402) — 14.5-inch with a steeper-tilting ScreenPad Plus and RTX graphics
- ZenBook Duo (UX8407, 2026) — looks identical to the UX8406 but runs a Core Ultra X9 388H. Check the processor line in msinfo32.

- ZenBook A14, ZenBook 14 — single screen
Core hardware
Processor (CPU)
- UX481 (2020): Core i5-10210U or i7-10510U — 4 cores, 8 threads, 15W
- UX482 (2021–22): Core i5-1135G7 or i7-1165G7 — 4 cores, 8 threads, up to 4.7 GHz
- UX8406MA (2024): Core Ultra 7 155H (up to 4.8 GHz) or Core Ultra 9 185H (up to 5.1 GHz) — 16 cores, 22 threads, 24MB cache
- UX8406CA (2025): Core Ultra 7 255H or Core Ultra 9 285H (up to 5.4 GHz) — 16 cores, 16 threads, 24MB cache
The 2024 and 2025 models are Copilot+ era machines with a dedicated NPU. The 2020 and 2021 models use standard ultrabook chips and are priced well below them.
Graphics
- UX481: Intel UHD Graphics, or NVIDIA GeForce MX250 2GB
- UX482: Intel Iris Xe, or NVIDIA GeForce MX450 2GB on the UX482EG
- UX8406: Intel Arc integrated graphics — no discrete option
If your UX482 has an MX450, say so when you quote — it is a real value difference over the Iris Xe version and is invisible from the outside.
Memory (RAM)
- UX481 / UX482: 8GB, 16GB or 32GB LPDDR4X
- UX8406: 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5X
Memory is soldered on every ZenBook Duo ever made. There are no SO-DIMM slots and no way to add more, so the capacity your laptop shipped with is permanent. That makes a 32GB unit worth meaningfully more than a 16GB one — a buyer cannot close the gap later.
Storage
- A single M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD slot on every generation
- UX481 / UX482: 512GB or 1TB, PCIe 3.0
- UX8406: 1TB or 2TB, PCIe 4.0
The drive is replaceable, so an owner-fitted larger SSD counts toward your quote — select the capacity the laptop has now.
Displays
Main display
- UX481 & UX482: 14-inch FHD 1920 × 1080 IPS, 16:9, 100% sRGB, touch. Some UX482 configurations were sold without touch.
- UX8406: 14-inch 3K 2880 × 1800 OLED, 16:10, 120Hz, 0.2ms, 400 nits with 500-nit HDR peak, 100% DCI-P3, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, Pantone Validated, touch and stylus
The OLED generations are worth substantially more. Check under Settings → System → Display → Advanced display.
Second screen, camera & audio
UX481: a 12.6-inch 1920 × 515 ScreenPad Plus sitting flat in the deck.
UX482: the same 12.65-inch 1920 × 515 panel, but on a hinge that raises it as the lid opens — brighter, better viewing angle, and better airflow.
UX8406: a second full 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreen identical to the first. Opened flat on the 180° hinge, the two together give about 19.8 inches of workspace, usable horizontally or vertically.
If the ScreenPad tilt mechanism no longer raises on a UX482, or either panel shows dead touch zones or OLED burn-in on a UX8406, note it in your condition selection.
Cameras: 720p HD on UX481 and UX482; 1080p FHD with an IR sensor for Windows Hello on UX8406. Harman Kardon certified audio throughout.

Battery, build & more
Battery & charging
UX481: 70Wh, charged from a barrel adapter. UX482: 70Wh, charged over USB-C. UX8406: 75Wh over USB-C from a compact 65W adapter.
***Include the original charger. The UX8406's 65W USB-C brick is small and easily lost, and a missing adapter lowers the offer.
Keyboard & in-box items
UX481 / UX482: a fixed backlit keyboard at the front edge with the touchpad to its right, doubling as a NumberPad.
UX8406: a full-size detachable Bluetooth magnetic keyboard that either clips over the lower screen or sits in front of it, plus a built-in kickstand.
***On a UX8406, the keyboard is a separate physical piece, and its absence significantly reduces the offer — pack it with the laptop. These also shipped with an ASUS Pen stylus and a sleeve or backpack; include those if you have them.
Size & weight
UX481: ≈ 3.5 lb · UX482: ≈ 3.5 lb
UX8406: 3.64 lb including the keyboard, and 0.57" (14.6mm) thin
