The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo is the creator-grade version of ASUS's dual-screen line, sold from 2019 to 2023 with discrete NVIDIA graphics and an OLED main display. Three chassis carry the name: the UX581 of 2019–2020, the UX582 of 2021–2022, and the smaller 14.5-inch UX8402 of 2022–2023, sold as the ZenBook Pro 14 Duo OLED. All of them pair a main OLED panel with a wide ScreenPad Plus above a front-mounted keyboard, but the processors span 9th-generation Intel through 13th, and the graphics span an RTX 2060 to an RTX 4060. That spread is what sets your quote, so the code on the bottom panel matters. Gadget Salvation has bought used laptops for cash since 2008, so you can trade in your ZenBook Pro Duo for cash, instead of having to list it yourself. Select your processor and graphics above, and we'll share an instant cash offer.

Find your model code

Turn the laptop over. The bottom-panel label reads Model: UX581, UX582, or UX8402, usually followed by two more letters that identify the graphics card. If it boots, press the Windows key, type msinfo32, press Enter, and read the "System Model" and "Processor" lines together.

✅ UX581 — 2019–2020, 15.6"

  • UX581GV (2019): Core i7-9750H or i9-9980HK, RTX 2060
  • UX581LV (2020): Core i7-10750H or i9-10980HK, RTX 2060
  • Tell: the ScreenPad Plus lies flat in the deck and does not tilt. Only generation with RTX 20-series graphics.

✅ UX582 — 2021–2022, 15.6"

  • UX582LR: Core i7-10870H or i9-10980HK, RTX 3070
  • UX582HM: Core i7-11800H or i9-11900H, RTX 3060
  • UX582HS: Core i9-11900H, RTX 3080
  • UX582ZM (2022): Core i7-12700H or i9-12900H, RTX 3060
  • US SKUs: UX582LR-XS74T, UX582HS-XH99T, UX582ZM-AS76T
  • Tell: the ScreenPad Plus tilts up 7° as the lid opens — the headline change over the UX581.

✅ UX8402 — 2022–2023, 14.5"

  • UX8402ZA: Core i7-12700H or i9-12900H, integrated Iris Xe only
  • UX8402ZE: Core i9-12900H, RTX 3050 Ti
  • UX8402VU (2023): Core i9-13900H, RTX 4050
  • UX8402VV (2023): Core i9-13900H, RTX 4060
  • Tell: a smaller 14.5-inch screen in 16:10 rather than a 15.6-inch 16:9, and the only generation with a 120Hz main panel.

❌ Not this page

  • ZenBook Duo 14 (UX481, UX482) and ZenBook Duo (UX8406) — the non-Pro line: no discrete RTX graphics, lighter, lower price tier
  • ZenBook Pro 16X Duo (UX7602) — 16-inch, with a ScreenPad that rises steeply on a lifting mechanism
  • ZenBook Pro 14 OLED (UX6404) — single screen, no ScreenPad Plus
  • ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 / 16 — gaming machines with RGB lighting and ROG branding

The quickest Pro-vs-standard test: open Device Manager → Display adapters. If no NVIDIA card is listed, you most likely have a standard ZenBook Duo — the one exception is the UX8402ZA, a Pro model sold without discrete graphics.

Core hardware

Processor (CPU)

  • UX581GV: Core i7-9750H (6C/12T) or i9-9980HK (8C/16T)
  • UX581LV: Core i7-10750H or i9-10980HK
  • UX582: Core i7-10870H / i9-10980HK (LR), i7-11800H / i9-11900H (HM, HS), or i7-12700H / i9-12900H (ZM)
  • UX8402: Core i7-12700H or i9-12900H (ZA, ZE); Core i9-13900H, 14 cores (VU, VV)

The UX582 code isn't enough on its own—it covers 10th-, 11th-, and 12th-generation chips. Read the processor string in msinfo32 to be sure.

Graphics (GPU)

  • UX581: RTX 2060 6GB Max-Q
  • UX582: RTX 3060 6GB, RTX 3070 8GB, or RTX 3080 8GB
  • UX8402: Intel Iris Xe only, RTX 3050 Ti 4GB, RTX 4050 6GB, or RTX 4060 8GB

The RTX 3080 in a UX582HS is the top of the line and worth substantially more than an RTX 3060. Confirm yours in Task Manager → Performance → GPU.

Memory (RAM)

  • UX581 / UX582: 16GB or 32GB DDR4
  • UX8402: 8GB, 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5

Memory is soldered on every ZenBook Pro Duo. There are no SO-DIMM slots and no upgrade path, so the capacity is permanent — a 32GB unit is worth meaningfully more than a 16GB one, and no buyer can close that gap.

Storage

  • A single M.2 NVMe SSD slot on every generation
  • UX581 / UX582: 512GB, 1TB or 2TB
  • UX8402: 1TB or 2TB, PCIe 4.0

The drive is replaceable, so an owner-fitted larger SSD counts — select the capacity the laptop has now, not the factory figure.

Displays

Main display

  • UX581: 15.6-inch 4K 3840 × 2160 OLED, 16:9, touch, 100% DCI-P3, Pantone Validated
  • UX582: 15.6-inch 4K 3840 × 2160 OLED at 60Hz, 550-nit HDR peak, 100% DCI-P3, touch and stylus. Some configurations shipped with an FHD 1920 × 1080 OLED instead.
  • UX8402: 14.5-inch 2.8K 2880 × 1800 OLED at 120Hz, 16:10, 550-nit HDR peak, 100% DCI-P3, touch and stylus

ScreenPad Plus, camera & audio

UX581: a 14-inch 3840 × 1100 4K touchscreen sitting flat in the deck.

UX582: the same 14-inch panel, on a mechanism that raises it 7° as the lid opens. 4K on most configurations, 1920 × 550 on FHD builds.

UX8402: a 12.7-inch 2880 × 864 120Hz touchscreen matched to the smaller chassis.

720p HD webcam with IR for Windows Hello, plus Harman Kardon-certified audio throughout.

Ports & connectivity

UX581 & UX582 (15.6")
  • 1× USB-A 3.2 Gen 2
  • 2× USB-C (Thunderbolt 3 on the UX581 and early UX582; Thunderbolt 4 on 11th and 12th gen UX582 builds)
  • 1× HDMI 2.1 FRL
  • 1× 3.5mm combo jack
  • 1× DC-in barrel port (these do not charge over USB-C)
UX8402 (14.5")
  • 1× USB-A 3.2 Gen 2
  • 2× USB-C with Thunderbolt 4, DisplayPort and Power Delivery
  • 1× HDMI 2.1 FRL
  • 1× microSD card reader
  • 1× 3.5mm combo jack and 1× DC-in barrel port

Not fitted to any ZenBook Pro Duo: no Ethernet port, no fingerprint reader, no optical drive, and no SD card reader on the 15.6-inch models — only the UX8402 has one, and it is microSD.

Battery, build & more

Battery & charging

UX581: 71Wh with a 230W barrel adapter. UX582: 92Wh with a 240W adapter. UX8402: 76Wh with a 180W adapter.

These need their original barrel chargers — none of the 15.6-inch models charge over USB-C, and the wattages are high enough that a generic replacement will not run them under load. A missing adapter lowers the offer.

Keyboard & in-box items

A backlit keyboard at the front edge with the touchpad to its right, doubling as an LED NumberPad. The UX581 and UX582 use an ErgoLift hinge that raises the rear of the base as the lid opens.

These shipped with a detachable magnetic palm rest and an ASUS active stylus. Both are easy to lose, and both help the offer — pack them with the laptop if you still have them.

Size & weight

UX581: ≈ 5.5 lb · UX582: ≈ 5.16 lb

UX8402: ≈ 3.86 lb — noticeably lighter, and the quickest way to tell it from the 15.6-inch models by hand
