The HP OmniBook 7 Flip 16 (series 16-au0000), released in 2025, is HP's mainstream 16-inch convertible “Next Gen AI PC” — the modern successor to the popular HP ENVY x360 16 line. Built on Intel's Lunar Lake platform (Core Ultra Series 2) with a 40-TOPS-plus NPU for Copilot+ features, it folds through four modes (laptop, tent, stand, and tablet) on a 360° hinge and pairs an aluminum chassis in Glacier Silver with an all-day battery. Because HP sold this model in a wide range of processor, memory, storage, and display combinations, your exact configuration decides its final resale price. If you're looking to sell your OmniBook 7 Flip, our HP OmniBook trade-in page lets you lock in a real cash offer — just select your components using the tool above to see an instant quote for your exact device.

Core hardware configurations

Processor (CPU)

  • Intel Core Ultra 7 256V — 8 cores, 8 threads, up to 4.8 GHz
  • Intel Core Ultra 7 258V — 8 cores, 8 threads, up to 4.8 GHz
  • Intel Core Ultra 9 288V — 8 cores, 8 threads, up to 5.1 GHz
  • All are Lunar Lake (Core Ultra Series 2) chips with a built-in Intel AI Boost NPU (40–47 TOPS) for Copilot+ PC features

Graphics (GPU)

  • Intel Arc 130V — integrated (paired with the Core Ultra 5 226V)
  • Intel Arc 140V — integrated (paired with Core Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 chips)

Memory (RAM)

  • LPDDR5x-8533 memory, offered in 16GB or 32GB
  • Soldered to the mainboard and not upgradable — on Lunar Lake, the memory sits on the processor package, so the capacity your laptop shipped with is permanent

  • 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB shipping capacities
  • Single M.2 slot — the SSD is replaceable, unlike the soldered RAM

Make sure you have the OmniBook 7 Flip (and not the X Flip)

HP's 2025 OmniBook convertibles have very similar names, so it's worth a 30-second check before you request a quote. The two cards below cover the model you're on this page for and the sibling it's most often confused with.

This model — OmniBook 7 Flip 16

Product number begins 16-au0 (for example 16-au0000nr, 16-au0017nr, 16-au0047nr, 16-au0001nr). Marketed as the HP OmniBook 7 Flip 16" Next Gen AI PC. Intel Lunar Lake only, Glacier Silver aluminum, 16-inch screen. This is the “7” tier — HP's mainstream convertible.

Not this one — OmniBook X Flip

The OmniBook X Flip is a separate, higher-end line. Its product numbers begin 16-ar0 or 16-as0 (16-inch) or 14-fm0 / 14-fk0 (14-inch), it comes in AMD Ryzen AI or Intel versions, and often in Eclipse Gray or Meteor Silver. If your label shows an “X” in the name or one of those product numbers, pick the OmniBook X Flip when you get your quote — not this page.

Where to find the number: it's printed on the silver regulatory label on the bottom cover of the laptop, and you can also see it in Windows by typing “System Information” into the Start menu and reading the System Model line. Our guide to finding your HP laptop model number walks through it step by step with pictures.

Display & audio

Display

A 16-inch (16:10) touchscreen with pen support, offered in two panel tiers. Most units ship with a 2K / 2.5K IPS panel (WQXGA-class, 1920 × 1200 to 2560 × 1600 depending on config). Premium units carry a 3K (2880 × 1800) OLED panel at 120Hz, 400 nits, with 100% DCI-P3 color — the OLED configuration typically fetches a higher trade-in value.

Frequently asked questions

01 How do I confirm I have the HP OmniBook 7 Flip 16 (16-au0000)?
Flip the laptop over and read the silver label on the bottom cover: you're looking for a product number that starts with 16-au0 (such as 16-au0000nr or 16-au0017nr) and the name “OmniBook 7 Flip.” You can also type “System Information” into the Windows Start menu and check the System Model line. The easiest tell in person: it's a 16-inch convertible in Glacier Silver that folds all the way back into a tablet. If the name or number contains an “X” (OmniBook X Flip), that's a different, higher-end model — see the next question. Our HP model-number guide shows exactly where to look.
02 What's the difference between the OmniBook 7 Flip and the OmniBook X Flip?
They look almost identical, and both are 16-inch 2-in-1s, so this trips a lot of sellers up. The OmniBook 7 Flip (product number 16-au0) is HP's mainstream convertible and is Intel Lunar Lake only. The OmniBook X Flip is a separate, generally pricier line with product numbers starting 16-ar0 or 16-as0 (16-inch) or 14-fm0 / 14-fk0 (14-inch), and it comes in both AMD Ryzen AI and Intel versions. If your label shows an “X” or one of those numbers, please choose the OmniBook X Flip when you request a quote so your offer matches your actual device. For reference, this generation also replaced the older HP ENVY x360 16, so if your machine is branded ENVY rather than OmniBook, it's an earlier product.
03 Can I sell an OmniBook 7 Flip with wear, a cracked screen, or a worn battery?
Yes. We buy these convertibles in all working conditions. Whether yours is like-new, has scuffs on the aluminum, a hinge that's loosened from heavy flipping, a battery that no longer holds a charge, or a cracked or touch-dead screen panel, just set the matching condition options above and your offer updates to a firm cash value. Because this is a touchscreen 2-in-1, it's worth noting whether the touch and pen input still work — that helps us give you the most accurate quote.
04 How does the trade-in process work, and did you know this is an option?
Many people don't realize they can sell a laptop like this directly for cash instead of letting it sit in a drawer or listing it on a marketplace and dealing with buyers. Here's how it works with us: pick your configuration and condition above to get an instant quote, accept it, and we email you a free, fully insured prepaid shipping label. Box up your OmniBook 7 Flip, drop it off, and once it arrives and our team confirms the configuration and condition, your payment is approved — typically within about two business days. You can get paid by PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or CashApp, or by a mailed physical check. If you'd like to read more first, our guide to selling your used HP laptop online and our step-by-step guide to selling a used laptop walk through the whole thing. You can also browse other HP laptops we buy or all PC laptops.
05 Should I wipe my data or remove the SSD before shipping?
We recommend backing up anything you want to keep to an external drive or the cloud, then signing out of your Microsoft account and doing a factory reset (Windows Settings → System → Recovery → Reset this PC) before you ship. You do not need to open the laptop or pull the M.2 SSD yourself — our team runs certified, multi-pass data sanitization on every drive we receive. You can read exactly how we handle it on our data erasure protocols page, and if you'd like a walkthrough of the reset itself, see our blog post on how to factory reset an HP laptop.
