The HP Pavilion x360 15 (chassis code 15-er, covering the 15-er0000 from 2021 and the 15-er1000 from 2022) is HP's mainstream 15.6-inch convertible 2-in-1 — a large touchscreen laptop whose 360° hinge flips between laptop, tent, stand, and tablet modes. With a slim build, B&O tuned audio, a full-size keyboard with numeric keypad, and an included stylus, it's a popular all-rounder for home, study, and streaming. If you've upgraded and aren't sure where to sell your old one, our trade-in service buys these directly for cash — many people don't realize a convertible like this still holds resale value. See our guide on the HP laptop trade-in process. Because the x360 15 shipped in a range of processor, memory, and storage options, your exact configuration determines its resale price. Select your components using the tool above to view an instant cash offer for your specific device.

Before you start — confirm the generation and size. "Pavilion x360 15" has been used across several years. This page covers the 15-er chassis (2021–2022). The earlier 15-dq series (2019–2021) is a separate device with its own quote page. Don't confuse this with the smaller 14-inch Pavilion x360 14 (14-dy / 14-ek), which is its own machine. The chassis code on the bottom label (look for "15-er…") is the surest way to confirm you're on the right page.

Core hardware configurations

Processor (CPU)

  • 15-er0000 (2021): 11th-gen Intel "Tiger Lake" — Pentium 7505, Core i3-1115G4, i5-1135G7, i7-1165G7
  • 15-er1000 (2022): 12th-gen Intel "Alder Lake" — Core i3-1215U, i5-1235U, i7-1255U
  • All are 15W U-series chips; the 12th-gen i5/i7 are 10-core (2P + 8E) designs

Graphics (GPU)

  • Integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics (on i5 and i7 models)
  • Integrated Intel UHD Graphics (on the i3 and Pentium models)
  • There is no discrete graphics option — graphics are integrated into the CPU

Memory (RAM)

  • DDR4 in 8GB or 16GB configurations
  • Important: the RAM is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded — the capacity your laptop shipped with is fixed for the life of the machine. Choose carefully when reporting your config.

Storage

  • M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive (256GB / 512GB / 1TB)
  • Single M.2 2280 slot — the SSD is replaceable via the bottom panel (no 2.5-inch bay)
  • This is the one user-serviceable component, unlike the soldered RAM

Display & audio

Display

15.6-inch multitouch panel with edge-to-edge glass and micro-edge bezels. Most configurations use an FHD (1920 × 1080) IPS panel at 250 nits (45% NTSC); some entry builds shipped with a lower HD (1366 × 768) SVA touch panel. The touchscreen supports pen input, and the 360° hinge enables laptop, tent, stand, and tablet modes. The FHD IPS screen is the value-driving option at resale.

Audio

Dual speakers tuned by Bang & Olufsen (B&O) with HP Audio Boost, plus a dual-array microphone for video calls.

Ports & connectivity

A clean, modern port set. The USB-C port handles 10Gbps data, DisplayPort 1.4 video output, and USB Power Delivery charging (HP Sleep and Charge); HDMI is the newer 2.1 standard. Note there is no SD/media card reader on the 15-er.

Right Side
  • 1× USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) (DisplayPort 1.4 + USB Power Delivery, Sleep and Charge)
  • 1× USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps)
  • 1× 3.5mm headphone/microphone combo jack
Left Side
  • 1× USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps)
  • 1× HDMI 2.1
  • 1× AC smart-pin power input

Wi-Fi 6 Bluetooth 5.2/5.3

Battery, build & more

Battery & charging

3-cell battery with HP Fast Charge (about 50% in 45 minutes from the included 45W adapter); USB-C charging is also supported. Battery health is a common resale factor on convertibles, so grade it honestly above.

Camera & mic

HP Wide Vision 720p HD webcam with temporal noise reduction, a physical privacy shutter, and a dual-array microphone.

Keyboard, pen & security

Full-size keyboard with a numeric keypad, backlit on most configurations. A stylus pen was included in the box on many builds. Security includes TPM 2.0, an optional fingerprint reader, and the webcam privacy shutter.

Build

Plastic chassis with a glass-covered display, using ocean-bound plastic in the speaker enclosure and recycled-plastic keycaps. ENERGY STAR certified, EPEAT registered.

Weight

≈ 1.83 kg (4.04 lb), depending on configuration.

Dimensions

360.2 × 227.5 × 19.7 mm (14.18" × 8.96" × 0.78").

Frequently asked questions

01 How do I confirm I have the 15-er model and not an older 15-dq or the 14-inch x360?
The cleanest check is the chassis code on the regulatory label on the bottom cover: this page covers 15-er0000 and 15-er1000. If your label reads 15-dq, that's the earlier 15.6-inch generation with its own quote page; if it starts with 14-, you have the smaller 14-inch Pavilion x360 instead. You can also tell by processor — an 11th- or 12th-gen Intel chip (i3-1115G4/1215U, i5-1135G7/1235U, i7-1165G7/1255U) points to the 15-er. The full model and serial appear in Windows under Settings → System → About. For step-by-step help, see our HP model-number guide or the general how to find your laptop model number walkthrough.
02 Can I upgrade the RAM on this model?
No — on the 15-er the memory is soldered to the motherboard, so the RAM cannot be changed or expanded; whatever it shipped with (8GB or 16GB) is what it has for good. The SSD, however, is a standard M.2 drive you can replace or enlarge. When requesting your quote, just report the RAM and storage your laptop currently has — a 16GB / 512GB or 1TB configuration is worth more than the common 8GB / 256GB baseline.
03 How do I wipe my data and sign out before shipping?
Back up your files, photos, and anything else you want to keep to an external drive or the cloud first. Then sign out of your Microsoft account and any other linked services. You don't need to remove the SSD yourself; once your laptop reaches us, our team runs certified multi-pass data sanitation on every drive. Full details are on our data erasure protocols page.
04 Which configurations raise my Pavilion x360 15 trade-in value the most?
Since RAM is fixed and there's no discrete GPU, the processor, the amount of soldered RAM, and the SSD size drive most of the value. A 12th-gen Core i7-1255U (or i5-1235U) with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB or 1TB SSD sits well above an entry Pentium/i3 / 8GB / 256GB build. The FHD IPS screen (rather than the HD panel), a backlit keyboard, fingerprint sign-in, and overall cosmetic condition — touchscreen and hinge especially — also matter. Our blog on selling your laptop as a first-time seller covers how to prep for the best offer.
05 How fast do I get paid, and what payment methods are available?
After your Pavilion arrives and our intake team finishes functional testing, payment is approved within about two business days. You can choose fast electronic options — PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App — or a traditional mailed check. Inbound shipping is free and fully insured with a prepaid label. Selling more than one device? You can add multiple gadgets to a single shipment, or use our bulk selling program for larger lots.
