The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 2-in-1 is a 14-inch convertible laptop built for anyone who wants a Windows machine that folds into a tablet without paying flagship prices. Lenovo has kept the Flex 5 2-in-1 name across several processor generations, moving from 11th Gen Intel Core chips through 12th and 13th Gen Intel, plus an AMD Ryzen 7 7000 option, while keeping the same 360-degree hinge, touchscreen, and everyday-productivity focus. It found a home with students, remote workers, and anyone who wanted a secondary device that also works as a tablet for notes or streaming. Lenovo sold a lot of these, so resale demand stays steady, and a well-kept Flex 5 in decent condition still finds a buyer. Pick your processor generation and condition in the selector above for an instant cash offer, or read how the process works before you commit. If you have more than one machine to move, start from the sell your Lenovo laptop page.

Confirm you have the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 2-in-1

The fastest way to confirm your configuration is Windows itself. Press Windows key + R, type dxdiag, and press Enter to see the processor and installed memory. For a fuller report, including the exact system model, run msinfo32 the same way. You can also check Settings → System → About and read the processor field directly.

Prefer a visual check? Look for the 360-degree hinge that lets the display fold flat into tablet mode or stand in tent mode, the fingerprint reader built into the power button on the keyboard deck, and the IdeaPad Flex logo on the lid.

Display & audio

Display

Every Flex 5 2-in-1 carries a 14-inch touchscreen mounted on a 360-degree hinge, so the same panel that runs Windows folds flat into tablet mode or props up in tent mode for calls. Touch input is standard across every generation in this series.

Audio

Dual speakers tuned with Dolby Audio handle calls, video, and casual listening. Do not expect much low end; this is a thin convertible chassis built for portability rather than media playback.

Security

Most configurations build a fingerprint reader into the power button, so Windows Hello can log you in without a password on every boot.

Ports & connectivity

Port selection stays consistent across processor generations, though a few later configurations trade one USB-A port for a second USB-C.

Battery, build & more

Battery

Battery life shifts with processor generation and screen brightness, but Lenovo builds the Flex 5 for all-day office and browsing use. A battery that no longer holds a charge still counts toward your quote; disclose it honestly in the condition picker above.

Finishes

Lenovo has sold the Flex 5 2-in-1 in a small range of aluminum-topped finishes, most commonly Storm Grey and Abyss Blue, depending on the model year.

Software

Most units shipped with Windows 11, though the earliest 11th Gen configurations launched on Windows 10 with a free upgrade path. A clean, activated copy of Windows speeds up testing on our end.

Known issues

As with any 360-degree hinge, the part most likely to wear with years of folding is the hinge assembly, not the motherboard. A hinge that feels loose or grinds when you fold the screen is worth disclosing rather than hiding.

Frequently asked questions

01 How do I find the model number / exact configuration?
Open Settings → System → About and read the processor line, or press Windows key + R and run dxdiag for a quick summary that includes RAM. For the full system model number, run msinfo32 instead and look at the "System Model" field near the top. If neither works because the laptop will not boot, check the sticker on the underside of the chassis. Our Lenovo model number guide walks through where Lenovo places that sticker, and the model finder can help if you are not sure which page matches your device at all.
02 How do I tell it apart from the standard Lenovo IdeaPad 5?
Check whether the screen folds back a full 360 degrees and whether it responds to touch. Lenovo also sells a standard IdeaPad 5 clamshell that shares similar styling and materials but does not convert into a tablet and has no touchscreen. If the hinge stops at roughly 135 degrees and tapping the display does nothing, you have the clamshell IdeaPad 5, not the Flex 5 2-in-1, and it belongs on a different product page.
03 Can I sell it with damage, a weak battery, or if it will not turn on?
Yes. A cracked touchscreen, a battery that drains fast, or a unit that will not power on can still be sold; select the condition that matches honestly and the quote adjusts to reflect it. Before shipping, remove the laptop from your Microsoft account and turn off Find My Device under Settings → Update & Security, and if BitLocker is enabled, suspend it so we can access the drive for testing. A device still tied to your account or protected by a device lock cannot be processed.
04 What raises the trade-in value the most?
Processor tier and generation matter most: a 12th or 13th Gen Core i7, or the Ryzen 7 7000 configuration, outvalues an 11th Gen i5 in the same cosmetic condition. Storage capacity is the next biggest factor, followed by screen and hinge condition, since a convertible with a loose or grinding hinge signals heavier wear. Including the original charger and packaging helps too, and a clean factory reset with no lingering Microsoft account saves us a testing step, which keeps the process fast.
05 How do I erase it, remove my accounts, and get paid?
Go to Settings → System → Recovery and choose Reset this PC, then pick "Remove everything" and a full clean of the drive rather than a quick reset. Before or after the reset, sign in to account.microsoft.com from another device and remove this laptop from your Microsoft account, and if BitLocker was ever turned on, suspend or decrypt it first so the reset actually clears the drive. Once accounts are clear, print the prepaid label from your quote and pack the laptop with its charger if you have it. Shipping is free and insured, and payment goes out after we test the unit, by PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, or check. Full steps, including edge cases like a forgotten password, are in our data erasure protocols.
