The Lenovo Slim 7 Aura Edition is a premium thin-and-light laptop built under Lenovo's co-engineering partnership with Intel, which is what the "Aura Edition" name signifies — a machine tuned specifically for battery life, portability, and on-device AI. Three generations have carried the badge: the 15.3-inch Gen 9 (15ILL9) from 2024, the 14-inch Gen 10 (14ILL10) from 2025, and the 14-inch Gen 11 (14IPH11) from 2026. All three are Copilot+ PCs with soldered LPDDR5X memory and a short M.2 2242 drive, so the configuration you bought is largely the configuration you still own. One naming quirk to know up front: Lenovo sells these as Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition in most markets and simply Lenovo Slim 7i Aura Edition in parts of the US lineup, while the internal product name drops the "i" entirely. They're the same machines. If you're ready to sell, our Lenovo trade-in program buys them outright — find your machine type below, then use the tool above for an instant cash offer.

Is this your laptop? How to identify your Slim 7 Aura Edition

You don't need to know anything about computers for this. The three generations look very similar, so the machine type code is what matters — and it tells us everything we need.

✅ Method 1 — Flip it over (works even if it won't turn on)

  • Power off, close the lid, and turn the laptop upside down on a towel or soft surface.
  • Find the printed label near the regulatory markings. Look for the line marked Model or Type.
  • You want the code ending in 15ILL9, 14ILL10, or 14IPH11.
  • You'll also see a Machine Type Model (MTM) number — a four-character code such as 83HM, 83JX, or 83NM, followed by more characters. Send us the whole thing if you can.
  • If the print is too small, photograph it with your phone and zoom in.

✅ Method 2 — Check it in Windows

  • Press Windows key + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter.
  • System Model shows your full code. System SKU often shows the MTM.
  • The same window lists Processor and Installed Physical Memory — write both down.
  • For storage, open File Explorer, right-click the C: drive, and choose Properties.
  • You can also check Settings → System → About, or restart and press F1 to read the Machine Type Model in the BIOS.

✅ Decoding the machine type

  • 15ILL9 — 15.3-inch, Gen 9, Intel Lunar Lake (Core Ultra 7 256V or 258V), 2024
  • 14ILL10 — 14-inch, Gen 10, Intel Lunar Lake (Core Ultra 5 or 7), 2025
  • 14IPH11 — 14-inch, Gen 11, Intel Panther Lake (Core Ultra 5 322/325 or Ultra 7 355), 2026
  • Reading the letters: the number is the screen size, I means Intel, and the final digit is the generation.
  • Marketing names Lenovo Slim 7i Aura Edition and Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition both map to these codes.

❌ This is not a Slim 7 Aura Edition if you see any of these

  • Core Ultra 7 155H or any "H" processor → Yoga Slim 7 14IMH9 or similar. Aura Edition began with Lunar Lake, so an H-series chip rules it out.
  • An AMD Ryzen processor → Yoga Slim 7a. Every Aura Edition here is Intel.
  • A Snapdragon processor → Yoga Slim 7x, an Arm-based machine.
  • Weight under 1 kg (2.2 lb) with a 75Wh battery → Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition, a separate premium line.
  • A screen that folds back 360 degrees into tablet mode → Yoga 7i or Yoga 9i, not a Slim.

Need more help? Our Lenovo model number guide walks through both methods, and our blog covers finding a laptop model number if the bottom label has worn away.

Core hardware by generation

Gen 9 — 15ILL9 (15.3", 2024)

  • Intel Core Ultra 7 256V or 258V (Series 2, "Lunar Lake") — 8 cores (4 performance + 4 low-power efficient), 8 threads, 2.2 GHz base, up to 4.8 GHz, 12MB cache
  • Intel Arc Graphics 140V, up to 64 TOPS · Intel AI Boost NPU up to 47 TOPS · up to 115 TOPS overall
  • The two chips are functionally identical — Lenovo paired the 256V with 16GB of memory and the 258V with 32GB, so the processor name effectively tells you the RAM
  • Memory: 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5X-8533 · Storage: 512GB or 1TB (1TB maximum)
  • Camera: FHD 1080p + IR with a time-of-flight sensor

Gen 10 — 14ILL10 (14", 2025)

  • Intel Core Ultra 5 226V / 228V or Core Ultra 7 256V / 258V (Series 2, "Lunar Lake") — 8 cores, 8 threads
  • Ultra 5: Arc Graphics 130V up to 53 TOPS, NPU up to 40 TOPS, 8MB cache, up to 97 TOPS overall
  • Ultra 7: Arc Graphics 140V up to 64 TOPS, NPU up to 47 TOPS, 12MB cache, up to 115 TOPS overall
  • Memory: 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5X-8533 · Storage: 512GB or 1TB
  • Camera upgraded to 5.0MP + IR · adds a microSD card reader and Ultrasonic Human Presence Detection

Gen 11 — 14IPH11 (14", 2026)

  • Intel Core Ultra 5 322, Core Ultra 5 325, or Core Ultra 7 355 (Series 3, "Panther Lake")
  • Ultra 5 322: 6 cores (2 performance + 4 low-power efficient), up to 46 TOPS overall
  • Ultra 5 325: 8 cores, up to 47 TOPS · Ultra 7 355: 8 cores, 2.3 GHz base, up to 4.7 GHz, up to 49 TOPS
  • Memory: 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5X-7467 — note this runs slower than the 8533 memory in Gen 9 and Gen 10
  • Storage: 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB — the first Slim 7 Aura Edition to offer 2TB
  • Supports up to four independent displays; drops USB-A and HDMI (see the ports section)

Memory — soldered on every generation

  • 16GB or 32GB, soldered to the systemboard with no slots. On the Lunar Lake generations the memory sits on the processor package itself, so it physically cannot be changed.
  • There is no upgrade path, no aftermarket option, and no service-center fix. Whatever your laptop shipped with is what it has today.
  • That makes memory capacity one of the two strongest drivers of your offer. A 32GB unit is worth meaningfully more than an otherwise identical 16GB one.
  • Confirm yours in msinfo32 under Installed Physical Memory before quoting.

Storage — one short M.2 2242 slot

  • Every generation uses one M.2 2242 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, and it ships occupied.
  • 2242 is the short form factor, not the common 2280 length. If you ever tried to upgrade with a standard desktop-length drive, it wouldn't have fit — this catches people out.
  • Maximum supported capacity: 1TB on Gen 9 and Gen 10, 2TB on Gen 11.
  • If you swapped the drive yourself, quote the capacity installed now.

Shared across all generations

  • Copilot+ PC certification with a dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard
  • Four stereo speakers (two 2W woofers, two 2W tweeters) tuned with Dolby Atmos and a smart amplifier
  • Quad-microphone array · aluminium top and bottom covers, anodized and sandblasted
  • Firmware TPM 2.0, camera e-shutter switch, IR camera for Windows Hello face sign-in
  • No fingerprint reader on any configuration — face recognition is the only biometric option
  • MIL-STD-810H tested (21 test items) · Intel Evo platform · Eyesafe Certified 2.0

Display options

Gen 9 (15ILL9) — 15.3-inch

15.3-inch 2.8K WQXGA+ (2880 × 1800) at 500 nits, 120Hz, 16:10, 100% DCI-P3, glossy with anti-fingerprint coating. Two panel types were offered: an IPS version with in-cell touch (1,500:1 contrast, DisplayHDR 400, TCON color calibration) and an OLED version without touch (100,000:1 contrast, DisplayHDR True Black 600, X-Rite factory calibration). Screen-to-body ratio is 91.5%.

Gen 10 & Gen 11 — 14-inch, all OLED

Both 14-inch generations are OLED on every configuration, in four variants: 14" WUXGA (1920 × 1200) at 60Hz with 600 nits HDR peak and DisplayHDR True Black 500, or 14" 2.8K WQXGA+ (2880 × 1800) at 120Hz with 1,100 nits HDR peak, PureSight Pro branding, and DisplayHDR True Black 1000. Each comes in touch and non-touch. Gen 11 adds 99% Adobe RGB coverage to the 2.8K panels. All are X-Rite factory calibrated with ∆E under 1.

OLED burn-in — please check this

Because the 14-inch generations are OLED across the board (and the 15-inch had an OLED option), burn-in is a real consideration. Static elements like the Windows taskbar, a browser tab bar, or a Teams sidebar can leave permanent faint ghosting after heavy use. Display a solid white or light gray image full-screen at high brightness and look for retained outlines. Burn-in reduces the offer but does not disqualify the machine — reporting it up front means the quoted number is what you get paid.

Which panel do I have?

Open Settings → System → Display → Advanced display. A reading of 2880 × 1800 at 120Hz means you have the higher-tier panel, which is worth more. 1920 × 1200 at 60Hz is the base panel. To check for touch, just tap the screen — or look under Device Manager for a "HID-compliant touch screen" entry.

Ports & connectivity

Port selection changed significantly across the three generations, and it's one of the fastest ways to tell them apart without reading a label.

Gen 9 (15ILL9) & Gen 10 (14ILL10)
  • 2× Thunderbolt 4 (USB Power Delivery 45–65W, DisplayPort 2.1)
  • 1× USB-A, 5Gbps (Always On charging on Gen 10)
  • 1× HDMI 2.1, up to 4K at 60Hz
  • 1× headphone / microphone combo jack (3.5mm)
  • Gen 10 only: 1× microSD card reader (Gen 9 has no card reader at all)
Gen 11 (14IPH11)
  • 3× Thunderbolt 4 (USB Power Delivery 45–65W, DisplayPort 2.1)
  • No USB-A port — the rectangular USB connector is gone
  • No HDMI port — external displays run over Thunderbolt
  • No microSD card reader
  • Lenovo's specification sheet lists the three Thunderbolt ports as the complete selection, so plan on a dongle

Not included on any generation: no Ethernet jack, no cellular/WWAN option, no fingerprint reader, and no pen or stylus support. Every generation uses Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with Bluetooth 5.4, and all of them charge over USB-C with a 65W adapter — so a spare USB-C charger will work in a pinch.

Battery, build & more

Battery & charging

70Wh on all three generations, with Rapid Charge Express — about three hours of runtime from a 15-minute charge, though only from a fully shut-down or hibernating state. Lenovo's rated figures: Gen 9 reaches 13.5 hours of web browsing and 22 hours of video; Gen 10 reaches 17.5 hours on MobileMark 30; and Gen 11 pushes to 21.4 hours on the WUXGA panel. Ships with a 65W USB-C adapter — a 3-pin brick on Gen 9, a slimmer 2-pin wall-mount design on Gen 10 and Gen 11.

Size & weight

Gen 9: 343.8 × 235.4 × 13.9 mm, from 1.53 kg (3.37 lb).
Gen 10: 312 × 219.3 × 13.9 mm, from 1.19 kg (2.62 lb) non-touch or 1.28 kg (2.82 lb) touch.
Gen 11: 312 × 221 × 13.9 mm, from 1.14 kg (2.51 lb) non-touch or 1.22 kg (2.69 lb) touch.
All three are 13.9 mm thick.

Colors

Gen 9 shipped in Luna grey only. Gen 10 and Gen 11 added Seashell as a second option. Color doesn't usually change the offer, but the lighter Seashell finish tends to show grime along the palm rest more visibly, so clean it before photographing your condition.

Keyboard & touchpad

Six-row backlit keyboard with 1.5mm key travel, multimedia function keys, and a dedicated Copilot key. Large buttonless glass Precision touchpad measuring 80 × 135 mm (3.15" × 5.31") on all three generations. No numeric keypad, even on the 15.3-inch model.

Privacy & presence features

All generations include a physical camera e-shutter switch and an IR camera for Windows Hello. Gen 10 and Gen 11 add Ultrasonic Human Presence Detection, which locks the machine when you step away, plus a self-healing BIOS. Worth testing that the e-shutter slides freely before you grade the condition — it's a small mechanical part that can stick.

Sustainability

Plastic-free packaging with 100% FSC-certified paper, 50% recycled aluminum in the bottom cover, 90% post-consumer recycled plastic in the 65W adapter case, and 30% in the battery pack. Gen 9 and Gen 11 are EPEAT Gold registered; all three carry ENERGY STAR 9.0.

Frequently asked questions

01 How do I find the exact model number of my Slim 7 Aura Edition?
The fastest way is to power off, close the lid, and turn the laptop over. Read the printed label near the regulatory markings and find the line marked Model or Type. You're looking for a code ending in 15ILL9, 14ILL10, or 14IPH11. Lenovo also prints a Machine Type Model (MTM) there — a code beginning with something like 83HM, 83JX, or 83NM. Send us the whole string if you can, since it identifies your exact factory configuration.

If Windows still boots, press Windows key + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter. The System Information window shows System Model, System SKU, Processor, and Installed Physical Memory in one screen. For storage, right-click the C: drive in File Explorer and choose Properties. For your display resolution, go to Settings → System → Display → Advanced display.

If the machine won't boot into Windows, restart it and press F1 repeatedly to enter the BIOS, where the Machine Type Model is listed on the main screen. Our Lenovo model number guide covers all of these with screenshots.
02 How do I tell the three generations apart — and from other Lenovo Slim models?
Lenovo's naming makes this harder than it should be, so work through these in order:

Step 1 — count the ports. This is the quickest test. If you see a USB-A port and an HDMI port, you have Gen 9 or Gen 10. If you see only three USB-C shaped Thunderbolt ports and nothing else, you have the Gen 11 (14IPH11), which dropped USB-A, HDMI, and the card reader entirely.

Step 2 — Gen 9 or Gen 10? Measure the screen. 15.3 inches means 15ILL9; 14 inches means 14ILL10. A second check: the 14-inch Gen 10 has a microSD card slot, and the 15-inch Gen 9 has no card reader at all.

Step 3 — confirm the processor. Open msinfo32. Core Ultra 7 256V or 258V on a 15-inch machine means Gen 9. Core Ultra 5 226V/228V or Ultra 7 256V/258V on a 14-inch machine means Gen 10. Core Ultra 5 322, Core Ultra 5 325, or Core Ultra 7 355 means Gen 11.

Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition — this is the trap. It's a separate premium line with a similar name and the same 14-inch footprint. Tell it apart by weight and battery: the Ultra weighs under 1 kg (975 grams) and uses a 75Wh battery, versus 1.14 kg and 70Wh on the standard Gen 11. It also offers Core Ultra X9 processors that the standard model never had.

Yoga Slim 7 14IMH9 — a 14-inch Slim 7 from the same era, but built on Intel's Meteor Lake Core Ultra 7 155H with Wi-Fi 6E. It is not an Aura Edition; the Aura program started with Lunar Lake. If your processor name ends in "H" rather than "V" or a three-digit number, you have this one.

Yoga Slim 7a uses AMD Ryzen, Yoga Slim 7x uses Snapdragon, and Yoga 7i / Yoga 9i fold 360 degrees into tablet mode. None of those are Slim 7 Aura Editions.
03 Can I still sell it with a cracked screen, OLED burn-in, a worn battery, or if it won't boot?
Yes. We buy these in every condition — cracked or delaminated display, OLED burn-in, dented aluminum, a battery that won't hold a charge, a failed Thunderbolt port, sticky keys, or a machine that won't power on at all. Select the condition honestly above and your quote adjusts automatically.

A few points specific to this family. Because the memory is soldered, there is no such thing as an aftermarket RAM upgrade here — we assess the capacity the machine shipped with. The SSD is the one component you may have changed, but only with a short M.2 2242 drive; if you tried a standard 2280 drive it wouldn't have fit, so most units still carry the original. Quote whatever capacity is installed now.

Two small things worth testing before you grade: slide the camera e-shutter back and forth to make sure it moves freely, and check that the IR camera still recognizes your face in Windows Hello, since there's no fingerprint reader as a fallback. A broken face-unlock sensor is worth mentioning.

Include the 65W USB-C charger if you have it. It helps the offer, though less critically than on machines with proprietary barrel connectors — any quality 65W USB-C PD charger will run these.

Being upfront about damage never costs you money. It just means the quoted number is the number you actually get paid.
04 What raises the trade-in value of a Slim 7 Aura Edition the most?
Memory capacity leads, precisely because it can never be changed — a 32GB machine and a 16GB machine are priced as genuinely different products, and on the Lunar Lake generations the RAM is fused to the processor package itself. Storage follows the same logic, with the Gen 11's 2TB option commanding a clear premium.

Display tier is the next big lever: the 2.8K 120Hz panel with 1,100 nits is worth noticeably more than the 1920 × 1200 60Hz panel, and plenty of sellers don't realize which one they have. Check Settings → System → Display → Advanced display before you quote. Processor tier, screen condition, battery health, and cosmetic wear on the aluminum round out the offer.

One honest note on timing: Lenovo refreshes this line annually, and Yoga-branded consumer models depreciate faster than ThinkPad business machines. If you're weighing whether to sell now or later, sooner is generally better — a new generation announcement pushes the previous one down.

Many people don't realize that Gadget Salvation runs a full trade-in service, not a recycling drop-off — we've been buying used electronics for cash since 2008. You get an instant online quote, a prepaid UPS shipping label at no cost, free inspection by our technicians, and payment within two business days of your laptop arriving. No listing to write, no buyer to meet, no returns to process, and no chargeback risk. Our pricing algorithm pulls live resale data from eBay, Amazon, and Rakuten, so the figure reflects today's market rather than a fixed depreciation table.

For more context, our blog covers how to sell a Lenovo laptop without getting lowballed, including resale-value retention by series and the best time of year to sell. You can also browse the full Lenovo buyback catalog if you have more than one machine.
05 How do I erase my data before shipping, and when do I get paid?
Back up anything you want to keep first — an external drive or OneDrive both work. Then work through these steps:

1. Remove your enrolled face from Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options → Facial recognition (Windows Hello) → Remove.
2. Check whether BitLocker drive encryption is on, and note your recovery key — it's tied to your Microsoft account. Sign out of Microsoft 365, Adobe, and any other licensed software so the seats are freed.
3. Clear any BIOS passwords you set. Restart, press F1 or F2, and remove the administrator, user, and hard disk passwords. A machine that arrives with a BIOS or hard disk password locked cannot be tested or wiped, which delays payment.
4. Reset Windows: Settings → System → Recovery → Reset this PC → Remove everything. Choose Clean data when prompted for a more thorough wipe.
5. Remove the laptop from account.microsoft.com → Devices.
6. Leave it at the out-of-box setup screen and shut it down.

You do not need to remove the SSD yourself. Once your laptop reaches our facility, every drive is wiped with NIST-compliant erasure software that goes well beyond a standard factory reset, and any drive that fails or can't be read is physically destroyed and recycled. The full process is documented on our data erasure protocols page.

Payment is issued within two business days of your laptop arriving and passing inspection. Choose PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, or a mailed company check. Shipping is free and insured in both directions — we email you a prepaid UPS label. Use the original box if you still have it, or double-box with at least two inches of cushioning on all sides; at 13.9 mm thick, these chassis flex more than a bulkier laptop and the lid needs protection.
