The gram Pro is a separate, higher-value tier that exists only for the 2024 and 2025 model years. Its model number carries an extra letter at the end — 17Z90SP, 17Z90TP, or 17Z90TR — and it is the only gram 17 that can have a dedicated NVIDIA graphics card and a 144Hz display. The characters after the dash — the "-A.ADB9U1" or "-H.AAC8U1" portion — encode the specific retail configuration, the region, and in many cases whether the unit has a touchscreen. Touchscreen or not?

Touch panels were offered only on some model years and only on certain configurations within those years. There is no OLED option on the 17-inch gram, and no 4K option — the 2560 × 1600 panel is the only resolution across the entire range.

Audio

Stereo speakers rated at 2W each, tuned with Smart Amp and Dolby Atmos, paired with a dual-microphone array. The 2025 gram Pro moves to a four-speaker arrangement. Close the laptop and turn it over. Near the middle or the rear edge of the bottom panel, you will find a printed label with a code that begins with 17Z90, followed by one or two letters — for example, 17Z90R or 17Z90SP. Everything after the dash is a retail configuration code; you can ignore it.

If the label has worn off, use the processor instead; it is just as reliable. Press the Windows key, type About your PC, and press Enter. The "Processor" line tells you the year directly: a 10th Gen chip means 2020, 11th Gen means 2021, 12th Gen means 2022, 13th Gen means 2023, Core Ultra Series 1 means 2024, and Core Ultra Series 2 means 2025. 02 How do I avoid confusing my gram 17 with another LG gram model?
LG's gram family shares one design across many screen sizes and tiers, and the differences are worth real money. Here is a concrete test for each:

gram 14, 15, or 16: take a tape measure and measure the screen diagonally from one corner to the opposite corner. A gram 17 measures 17 inches. If it comes out closer to 16, check your model number — it will start 16Z rather than 17Z, and that model has its own quote page.

gram Pro 17: look at the very end of your model number, before the dash. A trailing P or R — as in 17Z90SP, 17Z90TP, or 17Z90TR — means you have the Pro. Confirm it by opening Device Manager and expanding "Display adapters": if an NVIDIA GeForce RTX card is listed, it is a Pro with dedicated graphics, which is worth substantially more.

gram Fold: if your screen bends in the middle, you have LG's foldable, not a gram 17. Do not quote it here.

gram SuperSlim and gram Style: both are 15.6-inch or smaller and use OLED panels. No 17-inch gram has an OLED screen, so if your display is OLED you are on the wrong page.

Telling model years apart when the sticker is gone: look at your charger. A round barrel plug means 2020. A USB-C charger plus a 720p webcam means 2021. A USB-C charger plus a Full HD webcam means 2022 or newer; from there, the processor name settles it.
