Charger Included?

The Microsoft Surface Pro 12-inch (device model 2110), released in May 2025, is the most compact Surface Pro ever made — a completely fanless, 1.5-pound Copilot+ tablet built around Qualcomm's 8-core Snapdragon X Plus processor. Sold in Platinum, Ocean, and Violet (with a Windows 11 Pro business version alongside), it trims the classic Surface formula down to a 12-inch 90Hz display, a single 16GB memory tier, and two storage options — and drops the magnetic Surface Connect charger entirely in favor of USB-C. That simplicity is good news for sellers: with fewer variables than any other Surface Pro, getting an accurate quote takes under a minute. Select your storage and condition using our tool above to view an instant cash offer, or start from our sell your Surface Pro page.

Is yours the 12-inch model? Don't confuse it with the "12th Edition"

Microsoft simultaneously sells a Surface Pro, 13-inch (12th Edition) — a larger, more expensive 2026 flagship — and the two names get tangled constantly. The size difference settles it: this page covers the small tablet. If you're unsure, a ruler across the screen diagonal or a look at Settings → System → About answers it immediately.

✓ It's a Surface Pro 12-inch if…

  • The screen measures roughly 12 inches diagonally, in a body noticeably smaller and lighter than other Surface Pros
  • The label under the kickstand reads Model 2110 beside the serial number (some regulatory paperwork also references model 2109)
  • Settings → System → About shows a Snapdragon X Plus processor and exactly 16GB of RAM — every unit shipped this way
  • There are only two USB-C ports and no magnetic Surface Connect charging port anywhere on the edges
  • The Slim Pen parks and charges magnetically on the back of the tablet, not in a keyboard tray

✕ It's a different model if…

  • A 13-inch screen with a Snapdragon X2 Plus/Elite → that's the 2026 Surface Pro 13-inch (12th Edition), quoted separately
  • A 13-inch screen with a first-generation Snapdragon X Plus/Elite → that's the 2024 Surface Pro 11th Edition
  • A 13-inch screen with an Intel Core Ultra → that's the business-line Surface Pro 10 (2024) or Pro 11 for Business (2025)
  • A 10.5-inch screen → that's the budget Surface Go family, a different device entirely
  • A 13-inch ARM tablet from 2019–2020 with a Microsoft SQ1/SQ2 chip → that's the Surface Pro X

If the tablet won't power on, the serial number on that same kickstand label is all we need to identify it. Our guide to finding your Microsoft device model shows the label location with photos, and our general model-finder guide covers every backup method.

Core hardware configurations

Microsoft kept this lineup deliberately simple — one processor, one memory size, two storage tiers. Storage is the only internal spec you need to confirm for your quote.

Processor (CPU)

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus — 8 cores, with integrated Adreno graphics
  • Hexagon NPU rated at 45 TOPS, qualifying every unit as a Copilot+ PC with on-device AI features (Recall, Cocreator, Live Captions)
  • One chip across the entire line — no Elite upgrade existed, so there's nothing to check here

Memory (RAM)

  • 16GB LPDDR5x on every single unit — soldered, not upgradable, and never offered in any other capacity
  • This is one less question to answer when building your quote

Storage

  • 256GB or 512GB UFS storage — the only spec that varies between units
  • Built in and not removable, unlike the swappable SSDs in Microsoft's 13-inch Surface Pros
  • Check yours in Settings → System → Storage before quoting
  • No microSD or SD card slot

Cameras

  • Front: 1080p Full HD camera with Windows Hello face sign-in and Windows Studio Effects
  • Rear: 10MP camera, repositioned for natural landscape-orientation photos and video

Display & audio

Display

12-inch PixelSense LCD touchscreen, 2196 × 1464 (a crisp 220 PPI) in the productivity-friendly 3:2 shape, with a dynamic refresh rate up to 90Hz — note that Windows ships it set to 60Hz, so don't worry if yours reads 60Hz out of the box. Around 400 nits of brightness, 10-point touch, and full Surface Slim Pen inking support.

Audio

Stereo speakers with dual studio microphones tuned for video calls — and no 3.5mm headphone jack, so Bluetooth or USB-C audio only.

Ports & connectivity

This is the first Surface Pro in history without the magnetic Surface Connect port — everything runs through USB-C.

Left Edge
  • 2× USB-C 3.2 (charging, data transfer, and video output for up to two 4K external displays)
Everything Else
  • Magnetic keyboard connection for the Surface Pro 12-inch Keyboard (sold separately)
  • Magnetic Slim Pen charging pad on the rear panel
  • No Surface Connect, no USB-A, no headphone jack, no card reader — a short ports list is normal for this model, not a defect

Wi-Fi 7 Bluetooth 5.4 Copilot+ PC

Battery, build & more

Battery & charging

Rated up to 16 hours of local video playback or 12 hours of active web browsing when new — best-in-family endurance thanks to the fanless ARM design. No charger came in the box in most markets, so a missing power brick is normal and won't affect your quote; any 45W+ USB-C PD charger fast-charges it from 5% to 80%.

Cooling

Completely fanless and silent — no vents, no fan noise, and no fan wear to worry about on used units.

Keyboard & pen

The matching Surface Pro 12-inch Keyboard ($149.99 new) attaches magnetically and lies flat, and the Surface Slim Pen charges on the tablet's back panel. Both were sold separately and both add real value to your trade-in — mention them when requesting your quote.

Build & colors

Recycled-aluminum enclosure with the signature adjustable kickstand, in Platinum, Ocean (blue), or Violet. A business version with Windows 11 Pro shipped through Microsoft's commercial channel with SKU codes in the EP2-xxxxx format.

Weight

≈ 686 g (1.5 lb) — roughly 200 grams lighter than the 13-inch Surface Pro, and it's genuinely noticeable in hand.

Dimensions

274 × 190 × 7.8 mm (10.8" × 7.5" × 0.31") — about 1.5mm thinner than its 13-inch siblings.

Frequently asked questions

01 How do I identify my exact Surface Pro 12-inch configuration for a quote?
This is the easiest Surface Pro to quote, because only one internal spec varies. Open Settings → System → Storage and note whether your drive is 256GB or 512GB — that's it. Every unit has the same Snapdragon X Plus processor and 16GB of memory, so the remaining questions are just color and condition. If the tablet won't turn on, flip open the kickstand: the printed label shows Model 2110 and the serial number, which alone lets us identify your device. Our Microsoft model guide includes photos of exactly where that label sits.
02 Is the Surface Pro 12-inch the same as the "Surface Pro 12th Edition"?
No — and Microsoft's naming makes this mix-up almost inevitable. The Surface Pro 12-inch (this page) is the compact 2025 tablet with a 12-inch 90Hz screen, a Snapdragon X Plus chip, and 16GB of RAM in every unit. The Surface Pro, 13-inch (12th Edition) is the larger 2026 flagship with a 13-inch 120Hz screen (LCD or OLED), Snapdragon X2 processors, up to 64GB of RAM, and a removable SSD — a different device with different pricing. Two instant tests: measure the screen, or check for a magnetic Surface Connect charging port — the 12-inch doesn't have one, while every 13-inch flagship does. Choosing the correct model keeps your quote accurate and avoids a revised offer at inspection.
03 Can I sell a Surface Pro 12-inch with a cracked screen or dented body?
Yes — we buy this model in every functional state. Thin, light tablets travel everywhere and pick up damage accordingly: cracked glass, dented aluminum corners, a loose kickstand hinge, worn USB-C ports, or a battery that no longer lasts the day. All of it is built into our condition grading, so answer the questions honestly and the offer will reflect your unit as it actually is. Because this is such a recent release, even a damaged or non-booting unit typically retains meaningful value — it's worth getting a quote before writing it off. Just disclose known issues up front; our technicians test every device on arrival, and surprises can lead to a revised offer.
04 How does selling my Surface Pro 12-inch online for cash actually work?
Many people don't realize there's an alternative to marketplace listings that takes minutes instead of weeks: an online trade-in. Select your storage size, color, and condition above to lock in a cash quote, ship the tablet free with the insured UPS label we email you, and get paid within two business days of our inspection wrapping up — via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, or a mailed check. No listings, no meetups, no fees. Recent Surface devices lose value fastest in their first year or two, so selling sooner captures more of what you paid. The full process is on our how it works page, and our blog's Surface Pro trade-in preparation guide covers everything to do before you ship.
05 How do I wipe my data when the storage can't be removed?
Since the UFS storage is built into the board, the software reset is your data step — and it's thorough. First back up to OneDrive or an external drive, sign out of your Microsoft account, and remove the tablet from your account at account.microsoft.com (Devices → Remove). Then run the factory reset: Settings → System → Recovery → Reset this PC → "Remove everything" → "Remove files and clean the drive." BitLocker device encryption, which is on by default, makes the erased data unrecoverable once the reset completes. If yours was a company-issued business unit, ask IT to release it from Intune/Autopilot management first. Our technicians additionally run certified data sanitization on every incoming device — full details on our data erasure protocols page, with packing guidance on our shipping instructions page.
